When Daichi makes it to the Michinoku Park rest area for the morning park services staff meeting, he is unsurprised to hear Takeda, the manager on duty, open the meeting with “Illuminations start on Friday!”
Daichi himself is less than a fan, what with the late nights out in the cold and handling more lovey-dovey couples spilling hot drinks on the ground than usual. But the illuminations are fairly pretty, if you like that sort of thing. And working late means getting to sleep in a bit in the morning. And they usually get to work outside in pairs at night, which means someone to talk to during the long cold hours.
So really, it all evens out.
He checks his weekend schedule again on the time clock app, and then taps over to see everyone else’s schedules for the week. As a full-time employee, he’s due to help close up at the end of their daytime hours at four, then set up for their evening re-opening at 4:30 on Friday.
And so, the time clock app said, was Sugawara Koushi.

Haruhi needed to go, so they were all going, and woe befall anyone who tried to skip out on the group outing because, as Tamaki and his irresistible puppy-dog eyes put it, “It’s been too long since we’ve done something all together!”
