Summary
After John is seriously injured, Sherlock struggles to figure out how to help him, keep himself sane, and maybe, just maybe, get their life back to the way it's supposed to be.
A minute later and John was asleep again. Sherlock wanted to wake him up and grab him by the shoulders and shake him and demand that he try to wiggle his toes, kick his legs, stand up and walk. He wanted to weave his hands into John's hair and kiss him until they both couldn't breathe. He wanted to crawl into bed next to him and cry himself to sleep. Instead he just settled back into the moulded plastic chair, leaving his fingers wrapped in John's, waiting, waiting.

Summary
John wasn’t sure why he'd agreed to this ridiculous fact-finding mission in the arse end of nowhere. Sherlock had insisted excitedly that he needed to go and find a particular type of larvae which could only be found in an abandoned water source somewhere in North Yorkshire; apparently, a man’s alibi depended on it. John had grit his teeth but nodded that yes, alright, of course, I’ll come. Sherlock grinned and sauntered to his bedroom to collect the essentials he would need; knowing that it would likely be glassware and test tubes rather than clothing, John began to put together their cases in order to get the first train the next morning.
“Sherlock, do you own any jumpers? It is the North so it’s bound to be cold,” John mumbled unhappily as he folded his own fleecy jumpers into the case.
“No, John,” Sherlock replied. “I have my coat. I’ll manage.”
John sighed and pinched his nose but gave up the fight; Sherlock was an adult and didn’t need coddling like a child despite John’s personal thoughts on the matter.

John hadn’t had a flashback yet in his new bedroom there at Baker Street; including the night they had shared Sherlock's bed, he had had three full night rests in a row and was feeling quite rested. Closing his eyes, he sleepily remembered some recent dreams and thought about a pattern that seemed to be forming.

On 01/02/2018 my external hard drive, full of stories, art and images, stopped working. I have yet to get it recovered. It will cost me around £200+ which I can't spend, that's if they can recover anything at all as things might be lost for good.
Unfortunately this means such stories stored on there, which includes this one, can't be edited or finished until I know for definite.
If it can be fixed and I get the money to do it, things will be updated, if not, they will be deleted.
