There’s a nasally howl from the neighbour’s place. Izuku looks up – it’s the very loud, very blond guy living in the unit opposite. They’re technically in separate blocks but their balconies are close enough they can see into each other’s living rooms. He’s dancing around in his pyjamas. Yodelling at the top of his lungs off-key, swinging his Pomeranian around by the armpits like a furry ragdoll. “You’re a dog! You’re a fluffy little yellow dog and you’re a pain in the ass but you’re still my favourite shit-stain, yeah!”
Izuku bursts out laughing. The neighbour’s head whips around. He yelps when he sees him, tossing the dog on the couch and scrambling out of view to hide in the hall.
Izuku drops the watering can and runs back inside to find his phone.Small Might: Guys. I've decided i have a crush on my neighbour.

Toshinori smiles. It’s a wide smile, but he’s not about to admit he spent the whole walk here trying to convince himself children are nothing to be afraid of. “I'm ready.”
Aizawa purses his lips. He’s a little bit younger than Toshinori although the stubble and eye bags make him look older than he probably is. “You were a bad choice," he says, coming around to perch on the edge of his desk and peer at him. Toshinori forces himself not to scoot his chair back in response. “You’re just here to solve a case, sure. But you’re not going to get any info out of those kids if you can’t even deal with them.”
“Can’t be any harder than conducting an interrogation.”
“That’s what you say now. Wait til you meet them. Six year olds are always a handful," Aizawa says ominously. "But these ones. These ones are something else.”
(Toshinori's an undercover cop on the trail of a notorious yakuza boss. His search leads him to the sleepy little town of Mustafu, where a mysterious woman named Noriko might have what he needs. He just needs to find her without blowing his cover as a kindergarten teacher.

Summary
They get back to school just a little after sunrise, sleepless and buzzing, with grass and dead leaves in their hair. Their classmates glance curiously between them but don’t ask. Katsuki and Izuku have always been a unit unto themselves, two halves of an inexplicable relationship that started way before UA and will last way after they leave. Nobody questions it. Nobody cares, probably, but Izuku indulges the thought that maybe he and his Kacchan are just a constant, an unremarkable part of the furniture that surprises nobody because the way they are is just right.
They move in together, after a while. Katsuki joins Best Jeanist and Izuku trains under Gran Torino. They still take comfort in each other every day, curl up in bed and kiss and talk about how life is going. Their live are tumultuous, after all, what with villains and training and rescuing people every week. It’s nice to have something certain. At the end of a day filled with violence and adrenaline, Izuku knows he can come home to someone concrete.
It’s perfect. Being a hero is scary and grueling and uncertain, but this part is just right.
And then, one day, a child dies in Izuku’s arms.

Izuku experiences the harsh reality of hero work, gets therapy, and learns things along the way.
I've always loved how supercrunch builds their characters. Again and again, I've said this: the author is really good at making them feel real, at setting up the story's tone to have this introspective, nostalgic feeling. And I love reading every single word of it. Damn fic for being so good.

Izuku watches long fingers slowly reach out of the glass, wrapping themselves around the mirror’s edge as the man steps into real life. It smells like sugar and smoke. The clouds follow him out as he bows his head to fit his deadly-looking horns through the frame, red tattoos glowing faintly all over his bare torso and half onto his leathery wings. He makes the rest of the room seem dimmer just by standing in it. Molten metal eyes bore into Izuku’s, paralysing him as he kneels on the floor in front of this beautiful, terrifying apparition.
“I summoned you because want a boyfriend,” Izuku says and then winces at the shallowness of his own request. “I mean, I want to fall in love. I want to be assured that I’ll find someone someday who’ll love me the way I love them. Who isn’t grossed out by me. By the way I am.”
The demon tilts his head. "I offer you a place at my side. You want companionship? I give it in exchange for your soul.”
