If you can apologise.” He looks up at Kacchan, whose expression is fixed in a brittle glare, like someone who knows they’d have such a long way to fall if it broke. “Then none of it had to happen,” Izuku continues, voice trembling only slightly. “You could have just stopped.”

"Alright then, let's see, first question. Which of the following defines the identity of an element? The number of nucleons, neutrons, electrons or protons?" Todoroki finishes reading the possible answers and turns his whole body towards Midoriya, waiting.
Is he quizzing Izuku?
Midoriya is looking at him like he just grew a second head, he knows he is, but he can't help it as he chuckles quite incredulously. Todoroki doesn’t trust easily now does he?
"Number of protons." Midoriya answers, confident.
At that, Todoroki seems taken aback, he opens his mouth to talk but then decides against it. He just grabs his pencil and circles the right answer on the sheet instead, Midoriya can't help but feel a little bit smug. Thank god this isn't French class.

Summary

In doing so, he sets off a chain of events that will lead the school to question everything it has stood for. Fuyumi could have Bakugou if she wanted him—Shouto honestly wasn’t even sure how he’d become friends with Bakugou, just that it had happened somewhere along all the blood and furious shrieking (from Bakugou, not him) and trailing after Midoriya together like lost puppies—so he didn’t feel the loss (if it was a loss? The jury was still out) too keenly.
Midoriya, on the other hand. Shouto simply wouldn’t allow Natsuo to lay his grubby little hands on Midoriya. He’d fight him (again), if he had to, fight him to the bitter end—and hopefully get some answers about why this was going on in the first place as he did.

During All Might’s debut in Japan, he rescued people from one of the largest train crashes in the nation’s history. And that was away from the water. People survived. Under it, even the slightest accident could spell disaster. They were all at the complete mercy of the ocean. How could someone survive being buried under three miles of water? Outside grew darker. The bottom of the deep sea was second only to the vacuum of space in terms of places most hostile to human life, where humans nonetheless chose to be."
