Yagi gave a tired smile and raised his hand, fingers splayed and shaking against the night sky. “You know? I almost forgot what the stars look like.”
Izuku looked up past Yagi’s hand to the spread of lights. It was rare for him to see the night sky so clearly. Light pollution from the city usually kept him and his mother from seeing any but the most determined of stars. Here, they looked more numerous than Izuku could ever have imagined. The blank dark of space felt warm and deep, the stars flickering and blinking as the light filtered through the atmosphere. The arc of the Milky Way was a bright river through the black, so far removed from where Izuku was that he felt a sense of calm wash over his shoulders.
“Yeah,” Izuku whispered. “They’re pretty cool.”

To be honest, I didn't have a lot of expectations because of the usual premise of "Izuku gets fed up and becomes a villain" but this one is an entertaining read. Just the right amount of edginess (a good thing!) and so, it was satisfying to see Izuku be unhinged and trying to control himself from just going all-out villain and ruining his plans, until it all led to that outburst in the end. Got chills, man. I love how it paralleled what happened to Stain, being the catalyst for societal change and upheaval afterall. -

Oh my god, I don't know how to think about this fic. I love how it can be interpreted literally, or it could be Shouto's (or the family's) descent to madness. The setup to Endeavor looking all around the house until his eventual discovery behind the wall is just, amazing—and horrific. -

Over the next few weeks, he retrieves it for the occasional read. And again, after the month is out and hero work starts to grow exhausting, he fetches the letter to reconnect with that lost older self. More often than he cares to admit. Though he can appreciate how far he’s come, he still hates how the writing talks to him. He hates how it says “you,” speaking to him through the gap of years with the voice of a boy who doesn’t exist anymore.
But at the same time, the words reassure him. He finds a kernel of his present self in the vexed writings of his younger mind. That makes him feel like he’s real. He’s still Midoriya. And he’s still here.

It's been a while since I've come across a fic that hits close to home. It's not exactly the most friendly premise you'll see on a fic. But I love the simplicity of it all. Just Izuku, an old letter, and a whole lot of feelings. It's about looking back at your past self and how you chose the decision to live. And there you go, you're still here.Isn't that nice? Sometimes, it isn't, because... life. But hey.
We have Bakugou being emotionally constipated as always but that's what I appreciate from this fic. As much as I appreciate versions of Bakugou in other fics that have already changed for the better, this was a nice change of pace. Sometimes, people still have a long way to go before they actually learn some things about themselves.

“Deku,” Katsuki says. The rain is getting into his eyes. There is a painful lump in his throat that he wishes, wishes would go the fuck away. “Deku, fucking hell, what the fuck are you talking about?”
Deku looks up at him. Eyes full with some kind of conviction. “It’s okay,” Deku says. “I promise. I swear. We’ll get your reiryoku back to normal, and then, and then you can forget about all of this, you can—”
Holy fuck.
“Are you fucking kidding me, Deku?” Katsuki says. His voice is a pathetic sound, words grinding with each other underneath the pitter-patter of the rain. It feels painful to speak. “Is that what you think this is all about?”

At first I wasn't really sold on the Bleach concept and thought it would just be another fleeting moment where I read a fic and then think it was so-and-so.I wasn't expecting to be blown away.
It could be choosing Bakugou as the POV character, could be how Izuku and Bakugou's relationship and respective characters were portrayed so well. Could be the pretty writing and descriptions and emotions. Or it's just all of that. Even if it's set on a totally different world, I think it managed to bring what makes Izuku's story so... heartwrenching. A lonely boy in an unfair world. Even if Bakugou's actions were horrible, I felt so bad for him as Izuku throws away his whole life for a battle way bigger than the world. Damn.

“I’m not him! I’m not him!” Shouto snarled.

One of those AUs that are just the perfect length and tells its story about what changed. An interesting fic about Izuku being Endeavor's illegitimate, quirkless son. You'd expect it would play out just like canon (again) but there are some new scenes and interactions written. Loved how protective the other adults were in this fic. Izuku has to prove himself to his father, All Might, and all of society. He is also a lot bolder here and some of his emotions feel visceral, which I appreciate after seeing masochistic/kind Izukus over and over again in other fics.What I liked about this is how Endeavor resorted to measures to keep Inko and Izuku financially-dependent on him. Perhaps the only thing that didn't sit well with me was the attempted Endeavor redemption in the end. It was too much of a change character-wise for me.

In the wake of a bad break up, a scandal and a career changing injury all at once, Inasa tries to rebuild the life he sought for himself. But open wounds can leave scars behind and bones sometimes have to be rebroken to heal right.
Or Inasa moves to the suburbs to get a fresh start on life and finds that Todoroki lives next door, Todoroki who left the hero scene after a months long kidnapping, Todoroki who is the primary victim a the group of villains trying to reprogam heros, Todoroki who is nothing like Inasa remembers. But maybe Todoroki is just the person Inasa needed to meet.

“This doesn’t concern you!” Fuyumi spits, tearing her hand free and pushing Inasa away from her. “He does this all the time! Everything always has to be about him. He can’t stand the thought of not being the centre of attention for once in his life so when I ask for one single day for myself of course he has to go and make it all about himself,” she sneers, gesturing toward a still gagging Shouto. “Cut it out. You are fine!” She grabs hold of him again, forcing him upright.

The aftermath to a Todoroki torture/kidnapping fic. (I skipped the first part because I can't handle any more dark stuff.)There's Inasa who's healing on his own, and even if Shouto is in a worse situation, they actually learn from each other, in a way. I also liked Camie in the fic because of her being just a positive presence around them who will defend them if things go too far.
But I especially liked the realistic depiction of how family members deal with having to take care of someone with a lot of needs, particularly Fuyumi, who snaps mid-fic. That despite having good intentions, they are still human, at the end of the day. It also shows how the Todoroki family still has a long way to go in terms of being a functioning family.
