Harry grins, shaking his head. “I mean, yeah, if you don’t mind then, will you go to the Yule Ball with me? As friends?”
Hermione holds out her hand. “Only as pining star-crossed lovers, I’m afraid. Deal?”
He lightly smacks it away with a smirk, shaking his head again.
Smiling, they go down the hallway. Hermione bumps her shoulder to his. “Yes, as friends. I think it will be fun.”Harry and Hermione go to the Yule Ball, some changes happen sooner because of this.

Hermione Granger has spent the last few months trying very hard not to let her best friend’s increasingly unfair forearms derail her academic ambitions.
She’s doing a decent job of it, all things considered...right up until Harry Potter shows up at her potion station after practice, golden and grinning, and asks for just a bit of her evening. A special request.
She hasn’t showered. She smells like dragon bile and regret. But when he says her name like that...soft and urgent and crooked-smiled... well, there’s really only one answer she can give.
After all, being at Harry’s beck and call has always sort of been her thing.

Prompt: After a bad day, Harry drags Hermione up to the Room of Requirement. She is feeling super awkward about it because she's been busy enough she hasn't exactly preened for Harry like she usually does. But Harry just wants to build a pillow fort and snuggle anyway, so it all works out.
