Vanta blinks and looks up at Wilson. Wilson is still looking out the window at the flashes of lightning in the distance. "Dude, what the hell are you talking about?"
He tries to figure out the things that are contained within the overlap between him and Wilson in the Krisis triangle. Being lightweights? Having zero game? Not being able to speak Japanese?
Wilson looks back. His eyes soften a little. "A killer." His voice is soft. Vanta's mouth runs dry.

For some reason, Yuki Willerton grimaces. He steps into Kaelix's space, tapping his arm with the back of a knuckle. Puzzled, Kaelix leans down, close enough for Yuki Willerton to whisper in his ear, "Listen, I know that this isn't the most thorough disguise, but I'd really appreciate it if you could keep it a little more… subtle."
Ah fuck, Kaelix thinks, distressed. Yu Q. Wilson really is at my live house.

Summary
Vanta blinks at Wilson for a moment before his face does something heart-breakingly soft. Vezalius barely has a moment to process it before its full force is being turned on him, Vanta’s eyes puppy-like and pleading as he asks, with tentative hope, “C-Can we…?’
If that wasn’t enough, Wilson turns that thousand-watt smile on Vezalius as well, boyishly bright and sweet. “Pleaseee Zali? You’re technically our operations manager. We can’t act without your orders.”
Vezalius’ first thought is what the fuck? His second is oh like that’s stopped you two before. But his third one is the one that he says out loud: “Sure.” Half-laughed, slightly disbelieving but an easy acquiescence. “Let’s have a homie nap.”

Summary
The Vanta of the present is drunk, horribly drunk, and he always makes stupid choices when he’s drunk. So, when Wilson tosses him unceremoniously onto the bed and starts unbuttoning his shirt, grumbling about how much babying their tyrant requires, he doesn’t stop the next thought from slipping through: shit, he might look kinda studly on top of me.
Vanta and Wilson drink together. Everything that happens after is inevitable.

Summary
It probably isn’t heroic to put this matter to the side. To neglect his duty as a doctor, Vanta’s doctor, in favour of his own comfort. But Zali tells himself that it’s for Vanta’s comfort too. That Vanta deserves better than an interrogation from someone who he still considers as an acquaintance, a coworker, more than he does a teammate or a friend.
Nurse Lia pouts, but she doesn’t probe the matter any further. Her bedside manner has always been impeccable. Zali smiles at her, on his desk in her frame, and closes out of the window. He supposes that for now, the best thing to do would be to find the training room, and start getting to know Vanta a little better.
Zali doesn't feel like much of a doctor anymore, and he never really felt like a hero to begin with. Becoming a member of Krisis alongside Vanta changes his mind about both of these things, and pretty much everything else that Zali knows to be true.

For all the innate magic they possess, for all the power curling beneath their skin, Ashton Greymoore does not possess the most base of all magics in Exandria. He thinks, at one point, he may have, but then his father took him, and twisted him up into a mockery of the soft thing he once was, and left him blank stone skinned. They do not remember if they had soulmarks or not, when they were young, and soft, and maybe happy. But they do not have them now, so trying to remember would probably just hurt more than anything else.

Ashton's sure they don't have soulmarks anymore. That doesn't stop them from wanting to belong with Bell's Hells more than anything.

Where walls once stood, mere heaps of stone and mortar remain. Shards of stained glass jut out like broken teeth, casting rainbows over dust and decay. Vines curl over it all, nature hoping to reclaim what it lost control over so long ago.
(Or, a study in self-destruction, starring Ashton and a metaphor that got out of hand really fast.)
