The day had been quiet, up until now.
Nicholas and Danny had signed into their shifts in the early morning, downing their cups of coffee in anticipation of a long day spent chasing stolen tractors or escorting drunkards safely home. Instead, nothing had happened. They only got two calls; one being a prank by some bored kids, and the other reporting a missing garden gnome.
All in all, it was looking to be an easy day.
