He can’t taste anything but the dryness of his lips and his dehydrated mouth, and his tongue is heavy and weary like him. The world under his touch is dusty and withered, and so, so cold.
His body shrivels beneath him, and this is when Atsushi wonders if this will be his last days on the living plane. Is this really it, he’d want to ask to the God that lived above, is this really how his meaningless existence was meant to end?
It is silent.
Nobody answers, and that's when he notices just how quiet it is.
