His voice is soft and Namjoon just wants him to keep talking and listen to it more.
He registers then what he was starting to say to the barista, looks at the drink, and connects the dots.
“That must be my drink,” he says.
His cheeks are still pink when he turns his head again. “Oh, sorry,” he says, handing the drink immediately to Namjoon.
(or: your typical namkook story where Namjoon meets Jeongguk again after years and has a crisis because he finds him incredibly hot, but with a little twist)

One last person comes out of the backseat.
It’s been seven months since Jeongguk last saw him but it only takes one look at him for his heart to start pounding like it’s going to come out of his chest.
He looks sleepy, probably took a nap in the car, but he still looks as handsome as always. When he spots Jeongguk after rubbing his eyes and stretching his body, he smiles and his dimples come out.
“Hey Jeongguk,” he says, his voice soft and raspy.His body makes the decision to move before Jeongguk is even aware of it, wanting to meet Namjoon as soon as possible. “Hi hyung,” he says extending his arms.
(or: Jungkook works with his friends at a summer camp, where they try to create a fun and safe environment for teens. In the meantime, he has to deal with his feelings for Namjoon.)

Namjoon is content with his life. He has a steady job he likes, he has friends that love him and care for him, he is learning a new language, and he makes sure he has time for his hobbies every week. Obviously, there are always ups and downs but, overall, he could say he is happy.
There's, however, one tiny, tiny detail that is bothering him and that threatens to destroy his otherwise peaceful life.
He can't stand his roommate. And the feeling seems to be mutual.

“So, when are you going to get yourself a girlfriend?” Inquires his mother, before Namjoon can utter a fake well, mom, I’ve gotta go, I have some songs that I need to finish. “Or at least make it official, I can’t trust that you’re not doing who knows what with who knows who, with how many people you meet these days. I can just hope she’s korean.”
The words are in no way said as a jab, not a single negative undertone except the soft joke underneath the questions.
And yet, it makes Namjoon’s stomach feel upside down. Because this other thing he should be doing, the burden he has had to carry since he unveiled it, is that he’s gay. A homosexual man. Attracted to men exclusively.
or: Namjoon wants to finally come out to his parents, what better way of doing so, than by telling them he's dating his bandmate and friend (who his parents love already) Park Jimin?
