“Fuck if I know,” Yuri scoffed. He flicked his wrist upwards, flashing his own row of zeros.
Otabek’s lips twitched. “You don’t know who they are?”
“Don’t care, either,” Yuri said flippantly.

Summary
Geralt rescues Jaskier from prison. Jaskier is overwhelmed. Geralt is anxious. They're both exhausted, but they manage to have just enough of a responsible adult conversation for sex to make things better instead of worse.
So he watches as Jaskier rubs the tears and snot from his face, pieces himself back together, and settles into a solid approximation of normality. Geralt can still sense some frantic desperation coloring his customary chatter; that’s fine, it’s to be expected. Jaskier plunges into a lake with his boots still on; that’s fine too.
(There’s blood on his shirt; that’s not fine, but there’s nothing Geralt can do.)
He’s clearly signaling Geralt to pretend things are normal. Geralt can give him this—whatever artifice or pretense Jaskier needs, Geralt will allow. Jaskier’s presence offers a thin protection against the mess of fear and anxieties rattling around in Geralt’s head. A thin protection, but more than anything else Geralt can imagine. Jaskier is a comfort. It is difficult to accept, but easier, maybe, then it should be.

Summary
Fearing Geralt for any reason is a new element to Jaskier’s life, but it’s becoming a guiding force alarmingly quickly.
There’s not even a fucking reason for it. He doesn’t think Geralt will hurt him, has never thought he was ever at risk of permanent damage from the witcher. Geralt would toss himself off of a tower before he’d raise a hand or blade to someone who didn’t deserve it, gut punches to innocent bardlings notwithstanding.
But still, when Geralt turns a frustrated face his way after training or growls under his breath when one of the others snatches something before he gets to it at dinner, Jaskier feels like he’s back on that mountain, back to being driven off like an unwanted stray.
The anger is never directed at him, but he knows now how easily it could be.
He wonders, each day, how soon it will be.

Quynh was Andy’s right hand woman, a manager of sorts who made Andy’s big goals become reality. That left Joe. Their...well his role wasn’t exactly clear, but he used to be an architect. Which is what Nile was supposed to be."
Based heavily on the movie Inception (2010), which you don't necessarily need to see for this fic to make sense. Nile is hired as a dream architect to replace Joe, who's been fucking up missions due to his grief for Nicky, who has died permanently but keeps showing up in dreams.
