He looked down at the glass, he hadn't realized he'd finished it so quickly. He was staring at the last dredges of liquid clinging to the walls of the glass as he tilted it this way and that, the single remaining drop rocking back and forth as he was lost in the fog of everything.
Fuck. He needed a cigarette.
The muffled clink of another glass tapping his as it was set down on the bar in front of him jolted him from the longing. Ghost snapped his eyes up as his body tensed, fight or flight kicking in at the abrupt tug on his attention.
"Looks like you could use another." The bartender still had that casual smile on his face as he leaned against the bar.

"You have a leaf in your hair," Kaoru whispered, leaning over.
Kojiro rubbed his head. "You still have sand on your face."
Kaoru rubbed his cheek. "Is there still sand on my tongue?"
Kojiro squinted at Kaoru’s tongue, then shook his head. He grinned, unable to help himself. "The face you made after eating the dirt was so funny. You looked like a pufferfish!"
Kaoru’s ears went red, and he gave Kojiro a sharp shove with his shoulder. "At least I wasn't a dummy who ate dirt after I already saw someone else get flowers stuck in their teeth. That's even stupider."
When Kojiro is five years old, he recruits the shy kid in the sandbox to help him bake the perfect sand cake. It's no wonder that food ends up being a big part of how him and Kaoru take care of each other. After all, people say the way to a man's heart goes through his stomach. It's a good thing Kojiro loves cooking, and Kaoru... tries.
Kojiro, Kaoru and a history of their friendship told through the meals they make for each other throughout the years.

"S-Sure thing. I'll get it going. What's the name?" He held the marker to the cup in his hand.
"Simon. Thanks." He flashed John another smile and walked to the end of the counter to wait.

John MacTavish is late to the coffee shop he works at after a late night argument with his girlfriend the previous night. He can't shake the memory playing on a loop in his head until a voice snaps him out of it. The customer before him has him fumbling for words and smiling like crazy. He's never felt anything quite like it before and now in place of the memory of the fight, he can't shake thoughts of the mysterious man who has held his thoughts captive since. He can only hope to see him again.

It was one thing to know monsters existed. It was another thing entirely to grow up as part of the MacTavish clan, one of the oldest werewolf clans that existed. Being a MacTavish came with ‘capital E’ Expectations. They saw it as their duty to protect humanity from the things it couldn’t protect itself from. Things like vampires.

Summary
Lucifer’s done, finished, and the apocalypse is over – though apparently, no-one told the demons and horsemen. God puts the boys on clean-up duty but their plan requires a deal with Death and it may well cost one angel his soul-mate. Meanwhile, Heaven has to adjust to a new mandate and the return of their Father with Sammael. It’s a fine line to walk, between allowing your angels free will and maintaining authority on that celestial plane, and one archangel is finding the reality of God’s return more difficult to handle than he’d imagined – all of which spells potential disaster for humanity.
