Mondo absolutely despises Kiyotaka Ishimaru, more than he's ever hated anyone. He hates everything there is to hate about that fuckass hall monitor. Mondo hates how he talks, how he acts, how he nags and lectures and morally grandstands. All the little things he notices about Ishimaru make Mondo hate him more. Not that he notices little things. In fact, he hates Ishimaru so much that he never thinks about him, not even as he’s trapped in detention being supervised by him.
Nope. Not at all. Not even a single passing thought.

Summary
Mondo still really dislikes Kiyotaka Ishimaru, even as the kid tries his damnedest to tutor Mondo and help him get his grades up. Mondo thought they’d reached a stalemate of sorts. However, when an argument erupts between them, Mondo challenges Ishimaru to the only thing he can prove his sheer will and perseverance through: an endurance contest in the school’s sauna.
Things are revealed about Ishimaru that Mondo never would have guessed to be true, and a newfound camaraderie arises from bonding over their similar (yet still so different) pasts.

He took a deep breath and sat up on his bed quietly. When did he start thinking about stuff like this? It’s not like it mattered. Thinking about it would only make him want to talk about it, and talking wasn’t an option. No one would be able to help him through this, even if they wanted to. Kusuo only shook his head and got up.
