Fuma has one job: Pick up his son from daycare. Easy, right?
Wrong. He manages to land himself a seat on the ‘kidnapper bench’ after his name doesn’t appear on the pick-up list. It’s a simple mistake, but the daycare’s owner, ‘Kei,’ doesn’t seem to think so.
Neither of them knows that this moment– one misfiled paper– will tangle them together and help them realize how lucky they are to love and be loved.

Euijoo has never allowed himself to want. Wanting takes up space. And Euijoo has always learned how to be smaller than his own feelings, folded neatly into silence, into usefulness, into whatever shape makes him easiest to keep. He accepts instead. What is given. What is offered. What is left behind.
Even Nicholas.
Especially Nicholas.
He takes it all without complaint, like gratitude can substitute for longing, like silence can keep a heart from spilling over. But then something shifts. Softly, dangerously. Fuma’s gentleness. Nicholas’ distance. The space between them that suddenly feels like absence instead of routine. And for the first time, Euijoo wants. Not carefully. Not quietly.
Fully.
It doesn’t feel like becoming whole. It feels like coming undone.
