Wrong. He manages to land himself a seat on the ‘kidnapper bench’ after his name doesn’t appear on the pick-up list. It’s a simple mistake, but the daycare’s owner, ‘Kei,’ doesn’t seem to think so.
Neither of them knows that this moment– one misfiled paper– will tangle them together and help them realize how lucky they are to love and be loved.

He takes it all without complaint, like gratitude can substitute for longing, like silence can keep a heart from spilling over. But then something shifts. Softly, dangerously. Fuma’s gentleness. Nicholas’ distance. The space between them that suddenly feels like absence instead of routine. And for the first time, Euijoo wants. Not carefully. Not quietly.
Fully.
It doesn’t feel like becoming whole. It feels like coming undone.

Jo is an introverted art student who has always preferred pencils to people. Humans are hard to draw and even harder to understand; Jo would know. He doesn't even understand his own emotions most of the time, like why he always pushes people away as soon as they show interest in him. But as someone who has always put art first, it's easy to push this little habit of his aside. After all, he has a semester-long project to work on, and he has no time to spare anyway.
Enter Yuma, the strangest person Jo has ever met. He smells of wisteria and rain and has made a tree his home. Jo isn't quite sure that he's real.

He retracts his hand that’s reaching to grab the white napkin by the plate to look at Euijoo. Nicholas is sure Euijoo has a face he won’t ever be able to forget if he’s seen it in passing or somewhere else. Beautiful smile, upturned lips, tanned skin that makes him look like he’ll probably make Nicholas sweat under the blanket if they’re pressed up against each other because he just seems to exude warmth.
“No.” Nicholas says, he’s never been more certain about anything in his life. “I don’t think so.”
“You look—” Euijoo trails off, “very familiar.”
“If this is a pickup line about how I’m the man of your dreams, I’m going to walk out of this restaurant right now, Euijoo.”
