Her fingers were saying all those words her pride wouldn’t let her speak out loud, but when Suletta twitched in her sleep she knew she heard them loud and clear. The sunlight was playing with her pretty features and lovely hair, and in that particular moment of weakness – when her eyes were still shimmering with unshed tears and her heart was still singing those lovely stories about a shared home she could always go back to – her whole future was painted in red, white and gold, and Miorine could have never been more delighted to see it.
On Miorine, Suletta and their ability to always gravitate towards each other.

“It’s because I’m your groom,” she says simply, like that’s really all there is to it.
There are multiple ways she wants to respond to that. That doesn’t mean you have to do everything I say or A partnership should be equal, maybe. She settles on, “You’re more to me than that, you know.”
Miorine returns to the president's office on her own to wrestle with what Prospera has told her. Suletta spends the night.

“Clean yourself up,” she commands.
The girl— Suletta Mercury— dutifully does as told, blowing her nose very loudly. Miorine typically doesn’t care what others think of her, much less her classmates, but right this moment, she wishes she could fall through the floor. This girl is so noisy, so full of life. Being in her presence feels like the physical manifestation of nails on a chalkboard.
Once she’s mopped up her tears, Suletta returns the pack of tissues, now only half-full, and Miorine places it back into her desk, not looking at her.
“Now leave me alone.”
Suletta’s tone is full of sadness when she replies, “Oh, Ms. Miorine. I could never do that.”

“We should kiss.”
Anne did not mean to say it like that. Not that she doesn't want to kiss the two of them! She definitely wants to do that a lot, actually. However, the sentence came out all wrong. It’s embarrassing really, how her voice strained, jumbling out words and excuses that she herself did not think through at all. It was supposed to be perfect, y’know? All smooth and charismatic, but it ended up sounding so impulsive.

“Science says it’s possible,” Marcy says, absent-mindedly. “It really depends. If our universe is finite in its size, then no, they don’t exist. But if the universe is infinite, then yes, there could be worlds parallel to ours. Think of it like shuffling a deck of cards: you can only shuffle it so many times before you inevitably run into a pattern, you know?”
Anne doesn’t know, but it’s nice to hear Marcy ramble– she doesn’t do that very often. “Do you think parallel us are together?”
Marcy pauses, and she reaches for Anne’s hand; Anne allows it without hesitation. “I don’t know,” she says, softly, “but I hope so.”

“When we thought we were all gonna go home. Why’d you,” her voice falters for a moment, before she continues, “Betray us?”
Silence returns to the room for a long moment; the space is filled by the rustling of covers, a sense of doubt curdling in the back of Anne’s throat, hesitant to speak her next words. Finally, she spits them out, sorrow and hurt clear in her speech: “Betray me?”
And Sasha’s not sure she’s ever regretted anything quite so bad as she did Newtopia in that moment. To hear Anne’s voice sound so pained, and to know she was the cause of it… it makes her stomach churn, her vision flash hot, hot, hot with anger. Not at Anne, of course; not at anyone else, either. Anger with herself. She had been such an idiot. Of course, she’d never meant to hurt Anne; at the same time, she didn’t understand how she hadn’t seen it happening. Sasha had hardly even considered Anne thinking it a betrayal — she’d still get the box; they could go home if they wanted; no harm, no foul. Had she been blind, or had she been willfully ignorant? She’s not sure anymore.
