I would give him all that I have if he would only take it, Yusuke thinks. He’s surprised slightly at the profundity of his own internal monologue. He’s less surprised by the ease with which this admission is ejected from the winding tape of his thoughts. He’s old enough to recognize now that his truest thoughts are just a reflection of himself after all; blunt and unfettered, presented plainly and without question. He wonders what Kuwabara’s thoughts must be like.
The entire situation reminds him of that old adage about leading a horse to water. Yusuke knows he can’t make Kuwabara do anything, stubborn horse that he is. Still. Yusuke resolves to do what he can.
