You brush the back of your hand down the vampire's cheek. He feels almost.. normal? The temperature of his flesh heightened to the heat of a living being. Certainly higher than it should be, but for a moment you can't help but wonder if this is how he would have felt, were his heart still beating. If the two of you had met in another lifetime, is this how it would feel? Would he allow you to touch him like this, tender and soft, to feel the heat of his burning cheeks on your knuckles? Perhaps. His eyes have fluttered shut, rubies hidden beneath a blanket of white snow. Your hand trails down to his chin, hesitant to part from him. From the most beautiful corpse you've ever met.

“I’m fine.” He pushes himself off the ground, slowly rising until he stands up. At this angle, you could watch his height grow until he was standing straight. He was terrifyingly tall, dwarfing you easily. You swallowed thickly. It was hard not to feel intimidated by his sheer presence, and his size didn’t help that. When you could no longer hold his gaze, your eyes dropped down to meet a dark red stain in his jumper.
“You’re bleeding! Like- shit, badly.” You say dumbly.
“I already said I’m fine, so go fuck off.” The man points in the direction of your home as if shooing away a puppy. He stood this way for a long moment, staring down at you. You turned your head in confusion. This was so fucking weird, you thought right before the man toppled over again, making you scream in horror.

You learned to love being alone. With no one to bother you except the occasional racoon in your garbage or deer sighting, you lived a peaceful life in your little wooded home. That was until one night you hear a noise from the backyard that you cannot ignore. The last thing you expect to find is a large, dirty man passed out in your wood pile.
