Summary
He sits in numb silence as the doctor tells him he'll never be able to use his quirk again. That his injuries will never heal properly, he fucked up. His parents aren't there, but they never really have been. Fatgum reaches across the bed and squeezes his hand. Regret flashing through the older man's eyes. Kirishima would race to assure him that it isn’t his fault, but he feels nothing. Just cold. He can't turn and comfort his mentor. He can hardly look at him.
"Are you sure there isn't anything we can do?" Fatgum asks the doctor quietly. A sad shake of a head seals the deal. Kirishima felt a hand on his shoulder.
"I'm sorry young man."
Kirishima is sorry too.
or Kirishima never recovers from his fight with Rappa. His body no longer support his quirk and on bad days his weight. He leaves UA and becomes a teacher in an elementary school. He feels lost and lonely until a certain hero steps back into his life.

Summary
In the distinct way the universe worked, there was a formidable adversary gifted upon each person at one point in their lives. For some, it was the tyrannical weight of living beneath a malevolent dictator. For others, it was being brought into a world in a body that was not a reflection of their mind. Some had to live, knowing death was their only God given solace. A select few were forced into hiding, for a boy holding another boy's hand was quite possibly too heinous for the world to witness. As for others, it was living with the constant feeling of heaviness, excruciating and so vile, that the release of death was more favorable than having to live another day.
But the sun did shine every morning, and though it went down in the evening, it left with the promise of returning. And with each retreat beyond the edge of the horizon, rose the feeling of hope that tomorrow would be a better day.
The blonde growled, but he didn't relinquish his hold on the smaller. "The hell were you thinking?"
But all the boy could focus on were his eyes

“Well isn’t that an easy question to answer? Being gay is unnatural, it’s sick. They’ll be devastated to find out that someone they trusted so much was hiding something so hideous right under their noses. Especially your angry blonde friend, he’ll be so mad when he hears that you’ve been ogling him,” Monoma affirmed.
“Is being gay really that bad?” Kirishima mumbled.
“Of course, have you seen any pro heroes flaunting something that freakish? They’ll never let you be a pro if you’re a fag. The comission would never allow it.”
“Oh.” He sniffed as tears started to well up in his eyes. Monoma left him to go to their joint training. Kirishima rubbed his eyes and took a few deep breaths before he followed suit.
Or
Monoma finds out that Kirishima is gay before his friends do and convinces him it's a bad thing. Kirishima believes him and Bakugou tries to convince him otherwise.
