Summary
“Will?” Confusion seeps into Jonathon’s voice.
“No," Mike wants to say, “Not at all, I’m not Will, I can’t be Will, I haven’t even seen Will for so long. It wasn’t supposed to be like this. Why does it have to happen like this?”
But as he scans the room and lands on a mirror, he finds himself staring into the hazel eyes of none other than Will Byers. His mouth drops open, but it’s all wrong, because his mouth has never looked like that before in his life, all plush and—
Well. It’s just wrong.
Or: in early 1986, Mike and Will wake up in each other's bodies, halfway across the country from their homes, families, and everything else that was becoming familiar during their time apart.

Summary
Mike shrugs, and he's looking at Will again. The brown of his eyes reflects in the low, lazy glow from inside, making them look flecked with deep gold. His cheeks are slightly tinted, and — did he swipe something to drink? Will thinks he must have, or maybe Lucas slipped it to him, because his lips are pink and bitten in a way they only are when he's under the influence.
He finds himself captivated by his friend's gaze. It's dangerous, Will knows. Anything involving Mike has become dangerous lately, and so incredibly confusing.
"I do like Jennifer," Mike says, leaning forward slightly.
"So go kiss and make up with her, idiot."
After Mike and El's breakup, things between him and Will shifted, and Will is confused. The constant stream of Mike's girlfriends doesn't help anything, and neither does Will's apparent inability to get his best friend — and nothing more than that — off his mind.

Summary
Will wiggles to sit across from him in the attic as Mike plays out a few wonky notes on the keyboard. He winces. “This thing is really old.”
“It’s fine, keep going,” Will encourages.
Mike does, and once he gets the hang of it...well. Will is glad that the darkness of the attic can hide his blush, because Mike playing the piano is apparently an otherworldly sight to behold.

Mike catches Will’s hand and brings it to his collarbone. “You’re wider here, also. And this,” he touches the bulb of Will’s throat, impossibly soft. It bobs as he swallows hard, and Mike’s finger rides the motion.

“Nothing,” Will says, right into Mike’s ear. “Still feeling good?”
So good. Mike makes sure to not say it aloud this time. “I think,” Mike says slowly, heart pounding, “I need” — Will pulls back just a little, just enough for their noses to bump against each other, clumsy, and Mike bites the bullet — “one more.”
Will is still in Mike’s lap, which is maybe not very platonic of him, and the joint has smoldered its way down to the end, nearly over, all eaten up by the fire. Will swallows thickly, then leans closer, a perfect imitation of their positions from earlier. Mike isn’t sure how long it’s been, but fire has been eating away at him too, this whole time, leaving him on the brink of going up in smoke, slow and burning and so good.“Yeah?” Will murmurs, realization dawning on him, eyes wide. “One more?”
or: Mike’s still new to this whole smoking thing. Will has a few ideas.
