Said he could fly me in first thing this morning.” Sid couldn’t do anything but nod along, trying to put the puzzle together. “He stayed true to his word. Kris greeted me at the terminal, allowing me to get ready at his place. Even got to catch up with him for a bit.
“Before I knew it, I was dropped off here. Your car was gone and Geno was standing in the doorway, his smile so fucking wide I was sure his whole mouth could fall off at any moment. He explained that all I had to do was sit there and wait in the dark, let you discover all of this,” he gestured toward the backyard setup, “on your own, and then appear. Seemed simple enough.
