As footsteps bring this powerful being close to He Xuan, he lifted his eyes and dragged them along their garment until he found a pale face nestled under a wild mane of black hair. One eye was gone, covered with an eyepatch. He Xuan pursed his lips when he saw them, only vaguely curious. His mouth was watering with hunger. He only needed this braggart to come a bit closer…
Instead of doing so, with only a few feet between them, the powerful ghost stopped in his approach. “Do you not have a voice?”
“Nothing to say,” He Xuan answered.
Laughter filled the alley; a harsher look came into the brown eye which stared at him. If He Xuan were a flappable person, he may have found that focus on him disconcerting. He didn't. “Feeding like that” - a pale finger indicated the shell dissolving away on the ground - “isn’t allowed here.”
With a sluggish blink, He Xuan said, “I don’t care.”
