And it’s wishful thinking– that maybe Charles, the one looking fixedly right at him now, doesn’t remember him because he’s in his work attire and he doesn’t think he looks the same as he did back then–

He settles it on his lap, fiddles with the tiny collar around its neck, he holds the metal design hanging on the collar– “Yeontan.” He reads, his number is engraved under it, he traces his fingers over it. “Oh,” He cries because there’s no one else who can do something like this for him.He turns the metal bone on the collar around and nearly drops the poor creature in his arms and the printed words on the collar say– marry me, Taehyung.

Taehyung would apply to the local college for whatever degree and Jungkook would follow him after his senior year, and they’d be in college together, rent some crappy apartment and struggle through college together before finding nice jobs and starting a family.
