Summary
Kaveh is so, so beautiful. It’s a thought that rolls around his head like a marble, constantly circling the drain of his spine. He feels it as deeply as a wound. Alhaitham wants to sweep that soft hair out of his eyes, kiss a trail from his hip to his ankle, trace over the bridge of his nose. He wants to stay when they’re done, he wants to wake up and pull Kaveh to his chest, he wants, wants, wants.
It’s some sick kind of torture, being so greedy for something within reach, unable to keep it. To watch Kaveh’s eyelids flutter with a soft touch, just before steeling again. To watch him want something Alhaitham is desperate to give, and be refused every time.
Kaveh's life is on a downward spiral. In an attempt to drag himself out of this pit of romantic stress and creative flatline, Kaveh takes a commission to restore a dilapidated settlement in the desert. Just a little time to think, that's all.

Okay? Okay to what? To thinking about this preposterous offer that isn’t exactly easy to accomplish, that is unconventional and a little risky? Or okay, that’s his answer? That he’ll do it? That he’ll turn his roommate into an Omega so that they can—
Kaveh needs to stop thinking.
After being friends with benefits, Kaveh realizes that a house is not a home without Alhaitham. Or, Kaveh decides it's time for Alhaitham to do something about the fact that Kaveh's fallen in love and wants to share a bond with the only person who makes him feel alive. They get there eventually.
