    Summary

Satisfied with her appearance, Alana walked up to the door and knocked. A few moments later, it opened. Instead of Hannibal, whom she obviously expected, Will stood in the doorway. She was surprised—his car wasn't even in the driveway.

"Will?" Alana said, shocked that he was here.

"Oh hi, Alana," he greeted, regarding her with mild curiosity.

Will hadn't fully opened the door, still half-standing behind it. He seemed more reserved than usual, not exactly in the way that he was hiding something, but that he intended for this interaction to be short. The observation irritated her.

"What are you doing here, Will?" She asked, trying to keep her tone friendly.

    ——

Or, Alana stops by Hannibal's house unannounced for dinner, figuring it would be a great way to get their relationship moving. Only, Will is the one to answer the door.

    Summary

"Dr. Lecter," Jack said, trying to coax an answer out of one of them that he would never receive.

"Yes?" Will and Hannibal said simultaneously.

A look of confusion spread across Jack's face. His eyes flicked down from Will's face to his ID badge, which had a terribly grainy picture of him on it, along with his name and title. The photo had been taken on a day Will hadn't slept for nearly forty eight hours, making him look exactly like the serial killer he was.

It always made for a good laugh.

"Excuse me, doctor," Jack said with something akin to dread. "But what's your name?"

    ——

Or, Hannibal gets injured and is sent to the hospital where his husband, Will, works.

The center of the universe on his desk was a thick folder with a glaring inscription: PROJECT: HEARTBREAKERS. OPERATIONAL SURVEILLANCE MATERIALS. Inside reigned a creative chaos of photographs and tables that Chilton considered the pinnacle of deductive art.

    Summary

“And I’m pretty sure I wasn’t imagining being scooped up in gently benevolent tentacles.”

The problem with Rodney McKay - one of the many, many problems with Rodney McKay, John amended to himself - was that he had this habit of saying the most absurd things, with the most unbalancing earnestness.

Far too much, in fact, of John’s mental bandwidth these days was taken up with staunchly pretending that he wasn’t always internally wobbling about, like a drunken wildebeest, in Rodney’s presence. There were too many emotions involved: exasperation, bafflement, anger, fondness, annoyance, a helpless endearment and many more, some of which were brand new and seemed to have spontaneously evolved for Rodney, specifically.

The very worst thing about living in this strenuously suppressed maelstrom was that he had a feeling he was getting addicted to it.
