Summary
"The last time I saw you was in that bedroom, bleeding out against the wall, and as far as I knew, you hadn’t survived. You were unresponsive when I tried to rouse you, at least. For a long time, I resented you for it. How dare you let this be the solution? Where was the protection I was promised? I knew I shouldn’t have trusted you, and I couldn’t so much as tell you what I thought to your face, because you were dead.
“So imagine by shock, looking through news records all those years later, when I found an article about the trial of my own brother."

"Hey, I like you! Of course I would always do my best to spend time with you."
Fogado finally allowed his shoulders to slump forward, and Alcryst observed the relief wash over him. He had been standing tall moments before, with the poise of a polished and charming, ever diplomatic prince, seeming a heavy burden upon him, even if he never spoke of it.

Summary
When it comes to the simpler aspects of Fogado's life, it flows as smooth as water. He knows who he is, and knows who he needs to be. If there’s a clear distinction between those two, he doesn’t mind lying to bridge that gap.
Another thing Fogado is sure of is that Alcryst is the complete opposite.

Summary
The problem was that at some point it had all gotten a little out of hand for Alcryst. The bond had deepened a little too much. He was on the verge of having ulterior motives and that was not something he thought Fogado deserved. Fogado liked him, he had said as much, but Alcryst was starting to fall in love with Fogado. Every touch and look they shared sent shivers down his spine. He normally ran cold but around Fogado, Alcryst was always burning. Fogado's persistently sunny disposition was breaking through the gloom Alcryst usually shrouded his days in and he was afraid he was getting addicted.

Alcryst stands in the doorway, clutching a book to his chest, eyes shining. He looks breathless, like he just ran all the way across the castle from the library.
“Channel catfish are more aggressive than giant flatheads or blues, but like all catfish, their flesh has a heartiness and versatility that makes them a staple dish in restaurants throughout the Brodian mainland!”
He looks up at Morion, the excitement plain on his face, waiting for his father's response.

If you asked Artoria whether or not she loved her Uncle, she'd reply, "Of course!" unabashedly. This may seem strange to the typical onlooker, but Artoria answers without hesitation because she knows that, despite appearances, her Uncle loves her too.
If you asked Oberon whether or not he loved his niece, he'd glare daggers at you until your soul felt like Swiss cheese.
