Piercing, bitter cold greeted Logan as he stepped outside for the first time that day. The kind of cold that made the entire body tense up and the breath hitch. It was a quiet early morning, with a stillness that only freshly-fallen snow could bring. Logan took a second to pull his toque further down over his head as he grabbed the chainsaw by the door before heading out to the truck, passing the sign with red, clean lettering that read Tremblay’s Christmas Trees.

“Hey Tweedle,” Saint leaned over to speak low in Luke’s ear. The man hummed in response, tilting his head closer to Saint, even as his gaze stayed on the others. “Come with me?”
“Where?” was Luke’s reply, somehow curious and grumpy at the same time.
“Just come on.”

Saint and Luke have played together on the Rangers for years. They've been friends for nearly as long. At some point, the friendly feelings changed to something more, something different altogether. This is the story of them finally admitting it to each other.

Saint didn’t remember when the first flower appeared on his skin. He knew when it happened, sure, but he had no recollection of the actual moment, no memory of the tell-tale burn and the joy of looking down at a new flower and wondering what it meant. What he did remember was vague. Sirius grabbing his arm, hard, tugging him away. It had burned, but he’d figured it was just the grip.
