It would take many years for Albus Dumbledore to realize that he had made a mistake in placing Harry Potter with the Dursleys, and it would take even longer for him to realize just how huge a mistake he had made. He had expected some neglect, perhaps, but that would only serve to make him mouldable and easier to make serve his purpose. He was wrong, and Harry would make him pay for it.
