Summary
Wylan was, quite frankly, broke.
Ever since his father stopped paying for his tuition, he was practically living off crumbs. Ghezen, he didn’t want to worry about what would happen eventually if he didn’t get a job. Which was another issue. His dyslexia wasn’t really… documented- his father too disgusted to bother getting a proper diagnosis- which meant he would either have to somehow find a job that didn’t require reading, or more embarrassing, admit to them he could not read. But he desperately needed money and didn’t have much of a choice.

Summary
Wylan still didn’t feel like he belonged in the Van Eck mansion.
He wasn’t sure he would ever.
Of course Jesper had been an absolute wonder in quelling those feelings, noticing the somewhat distant look he’d get walking through certain halls and snapping him out of it. Jesper helped tear down decorations and put up new ones. Jesper had held him, night after night, with no judgment at all.

He shook his head, inching closer forward towards Nico. “That isn’t an answer,” Solace reached out his arm, palm up. Two twenty bills. “Go buy something, to eat.”
“No way. I’ll live, Solace.” He locked brown eyes with blue, glaring. It would be a sad day in hell when he would accept charity from Solace.or

Summary
Will Solace is sunshiny, yes, and yet- people fail to realize he has gone through the same wars. He has watched people die, people’s lives fading. He has felt the same hurt and ache from lost loved ones. He is by no means, pure.

Summary
"Saps loves you," Thomas says, and he sounds so sure of it. He says it like it’s a fact. Like it’s written into the stars and carved into their ribs. Saps loves Flux. It’s final. It’s life. This is their forever. Flux knows this.
Saps wants to propose. Flux knows this too. He’d whispered it into his skin before all of this started to become a problem. Before Flux had pulled away and started to build an impenetrable wall, brick by brick. Forehead pressed into Flux’s shoulder, arm heavy around his waist, he’d whispered into the darkness You’re it for me Flux, I don’t want anyone else.Or Flux is struggling, and somewhere along the way having Saps at his side becomes too much. This is the build-up, the fallout and the aftermath and how they muddle through it all

Summary
"Is that...." Wylan squints at the ridiculously ornate plate that was, for reasons he could not figure out, in a drawer of Jesper's desk. "Is that from my father’s house?"
"Technically," Jesper says, holding the plate up, "It's from Kaz."
"Kaz gave you a plate from my father's house?"
"Saints, no. I stole it from Kaz."
"....After he stole it from my father's house?"
"Also technically, it's your house now."
Kaz steals a plate. Jesper steals it from Kaz. Wylan finds the familiar (and ugly) plate, and he joins Jesper in stealing it from Kaz. The rest of the crows find out, and soon they're all stealing a plate from each other.
