Summary
Something really was wrong, Isagi felt like shit. He almost tapped Barou's number out and instantly deleted it and flung the device onto his messy bed in embarassment without having done anything in the first place. What was even between him and Barou that he would call him the moment he felt sick– maybe he really deluded himself into thinking Barou is his friend, or something more, instead of a rival. And he groaned, head buried between his knees. He really felt like shit.

Facing Snuffy caused Barou to realize thoughts about his life and how he approaches things. Of course he keeps his own Barou way and follows his ideals still even after Lorenzo convinced him and he made the deal with Snuffy, but he did start to think about more than soccer as a way for him to become king. He started to see what he wants more but the "more" that he wants, he isn't sure how to approach it, especially during the Neo Egoist League.

“Oh,” Isagi says in shock, and then he’s smiling that radiant smile as usual that gets on every single one of Barou’s fried nerves, and he offers a hand for Barou to stand. Barou stares at it for a moment, Isagi’s hands are clean and a little red like he’s just scrubbed them raw in the sink and his nails are well kept- Barou takes it and lets himself be pulled up. “Come to the cafe with me after tomorrow's practice and we can talk about the lease.”
Barou agrees. Because he might also be a little bit in love with the idiot too.

He tries his best to fill the void immediately, but one question rings in his mind:

Little boys like Sasuke liked picking flowers for their mother. Now he’d never let anyone know it – especially not anyone at school – but every day on his way back from the academy he’d pick them. In the early spring, he would test how much his jumping skills had improved by grabbing handfuls of cherry blossoms that only ended up a little smushed. Toward mid-spring, at the edges of the river bed there’d be bright fuschia satsuki azalea. He always picked the brightest flowers for his home, so he’d make a bouquet with them: marigolds, grape hyacinths, red clover and buttercups. Mother named them each for him when he brought them home and placed them in a large crystal vase at the center of the table – his garish bouquet. She’d tell him the meanings of each and every one of them after dinner. She liked the marigolds most of all.
Little boys like Sasuke like picking flowers for their mothers. Little boys like Sasuke don’t like getting caught.
