"E–excuse me?" Wilhelm blinks.
Simon lets out an angry sigh. "Go home and take Henry with you,” Simon spits. "I don't need your help. I don't need you." He harshly drops his wet cloth on the counter, glaring at Wilhelm like if he stares hard enough he'll actually be able to physically crush Wilhelm's heart. And frankly, Wilhelm's starting to think that might be possible.
"Simon, I was just–"
"No, no, you weren't just," Simon glares.

“You’re quite on time Mr. Eriksson. We’re still waiting for the other parent to arrive,” the headmistress says.
Simon turns his attention to the other kid in the room. She has long golden-brown hair and something about the girl’s eyes are familiar, honey brown, though he’s sure he has never met her before.
There's a knock on the door and a security officer surveys the room before the last person Simon ever expected to see walks in and crouches down beside the other girl, cupping her face and asking if she’s okay
Alba turns around in her chair to look at him. “I’m so sorry Dad. I didn’t mean for this to happen.”
Simon’s eyes are stuck in a vortex of flickering to the man that just walked in and then to the girl he’s comforting and then to his own daughter. He has a very bad feeling about this.
“Ah, Crown Prince Wilhelm, thank you for being here, Sir.” Ms. Perky greets the royal.
Wilhelm gets up and moves to stand behind the girl. Simon’s eyes meet Wille’s and suddenly he doesn’t remember how to breathe.
“This is Alba’s father, Mr. Erik-”

“Why are you telling me this?” Wilhelm asks, blinking several times. Simon’s head turns towards him, attentive, “You’ve never- I mean, why now? Why me? I know almost nothing about you.”
He really doesn’t. Generally, he prevents the questions from rotating inside his mind before they grow too big, but… what does Simon like? What is his favorite color? Does he have any hobbies? Does he have any pets? What is he currently studying? Is he even enrolled in college at all? Who are his friends? Does he have any from his childhood? What was his first impression of Wilhelm when they met? Does he have plans for the future? Does he want a future?
It makes Wilhelm want to cry again, but he controls himself.
Simon is almost a complete stranger.

Wilhelm wants to die. He needs to say words to fill up the air because, all of sudden, he is now feeling the good kind of overwhelmed and nauseous.
"Even when you're not singing or performing, you fill up the space." It doesn't even make sense when he says it but Simon smiles wide, his eyes crinkling like they do and Wilhelm feels rewarded. The night light shines perfectly on Simon's skin, his alcohol addled brain duly notes. "I think I've been in awe from the first time I saw you perform in that show you opened for. And today I had my breath taken away again, you know. Your voice dulled the irritating noise around me." God, Wilhelm needs to stop talking.

“Don’t make me call you sweetheart.”
Wilhelm swung around in his chair, glaring at Simon, who’s lunging over his desk to whisper at Wilhelm. “What do you want Simon?” He already regrets turning around, because the satisfied smirk on Simon’s face makes him want to shove him off his chair.
“Your t-shirts inside out,” Simon whispered with a grin, eyes sliding to the collar of Wilhelm's shirt, and back to his eyes in a smooth motion. “Sweetheart.”
