The day they first met in the abyss, the day colonel took his spore with him, so it happened to be a significant day for the humans ? smiling at the thought An Zhe walks away after thanking the researchers.
Since it's a significant day, a day for lovers, a day of their first encounter, he'll definitely try to give something to Lu Feng.

“Your distraction,” said Shadow, pulling Sonic over with him.
Suddenly, the dots connected. “Hold on, you want me to…” Sonic waved a useless paw at the seat behind Shadow. “You want me to get on with you?!”
Shadow’s eyes narrowed again, but he didn’t sit upright. The casual air about his rival drove Sonic nuts. “Unless you’d rather waste away in your hovel you call a home,” said Shadow, an edge of tension in his voice.
One sprained ankle, one motorcycle, and one very confusing joyride under the night sky.

Kaveh leaves for a few weeks to work on a commission in Fontaine. Alhaitham misses him more than he expects to, and when Kaveh returns, it seems he missed Alhaitham just as much.
Traces of Kaveh lingered everywhere in the house. Kaveh’s favourite mug sat lonely in the cupboard every time Alhaitham grabbed a cup to make his morning coffee - one instead of two, stray red hairpins stabbing him in the ass when he sat down on the divan because they were always falling out of Kaveh’s hair when he passed out on the couch...
Even the houseplants seemed to miss Kaveh, their leaves drooping more by the day. Alhaitham swore he’d been watering them exactly as Kaveh had instructed since he’d been gone, but it was as though the sunshine that seemed to simply radiate off of Kaveh was a necessary part of photosynthesis for them now, and Alhaitham’s bland watering technique - and whatever the exact opposite of Kaveh's sunny demeanour was - just wasn’t cutting it.

“That’s exactly why you should go talk to him,” she continued, once again leaning against the barricade. “You’ll grow old, and with time, you’ll become more pissed at yourself for not doing this now.” Rouge proceeded to clear her throat, throwing a hand up in the air and putting one on her chest as if she were in some dramatic play. “Oh my, just why didn’t I talk to my long lost lover? Instead of five years since we’ve spoken it’s been ten! Oh how I should’ve listened to my glorious auntie Rouge—You see what I mean?”

During what Sonic thought would just be a nice day at the roller rink where Tails and Knuckles could bowl until their hearts content and Sonic could visit with Rouge (and maybe dabble in a bit of rollerskating), he ends up unexpectedly seeing an old crush he hasn't talked to for the past five years.
