Lapis and Peridot had been living together for several years now. After Steven had left town, they had soon retired from Little Homeworld to also explore the Earth, expand their horizons. They had decided to move to New Jersey, a city Lapis had flown to with Steven once upon a time. It was hard to adjust to the new lifestyle- but in a way it was also a lot of fun. Same went for their new relationship. Lapis is super touchy, but Peridot is vehemently asexual. That doesn’t mean Peridot is not willing to try… alternative options to please her partner.

You know what, I never like lapidot smut because they completely ignore Peridot's asexuality. Actually, i was looking for a cuddling fic... But I'm glad i gave this a go, because this one is so *them*, so awkward. It's more cute than perverted. It's nice how Peridot doesn't "cave in" and realizes she "actually liked it all along" like all the other fanfiction I've TRIED to read: She genuinely doesn't know how to, and why she would want to participate in that kind of stuff apart from making Lapis happy. She's not even disgusted by it, it's just not something she'd intentionally do. But she likes Lapis. She also has boundaries, and Lapis doesn't cross them. Using the limb enhancers was an excellent move ("I can barely touch you.. But with these... I'm not... Technically touching you..?"). I love how awkward she is all the way, because yes, Peridot is an awkward mess. I love how she just bolts in the bedroom and invades Lapis' privacy hahhahaha and how confused Lapis was, how embarrassed..! Overall, this didn't seem forced at all, it was rhythmic, not disgusting or irrealistic, and slow enough for me to get all the details!! The best smut is the one where the sex isn't even the thing i pay the most attention to.. The most interesting part was how in character their dialogue was ahhahahaha... And the after-care, too... Too cute. Gotta love the awkwardness, because it feels real, and discovering things together for the first time is so intimate and tender.. 10/10, will read again and cry..!

Fujino remembers the movie theater, she remembers running with Kyomoto through the city, pulling her by the arm to watch the films whenever they took the train there. She remembers Kyomoto getting scared during the explosion scenes, even if the films they were watching weren't horror movies. Now, watching the Shark Kick movie, sitting alone in the center of the room, she observed Fenji and Jane running together through the festival, eating, playing games, looking into each other's eyes. When the city was destroyed and Jane had already released all of her frustration as explosions, she hugged Fenji on the beach, and Fujino just cried silently while watching their farewell.
Fujino wants to keep going, she doesn't want to stop, but even if she doesn't want to give up, at a certain point she simply can't.
