“You don’t want to eat?” Shen Qingqiu frowned. “You need your strength to recover properly.”
“Watching Shizun is enough to make me full,” he said hastily, with a sweet smile.
Shen Qingqiu shrugged and picked up his chopsticks. Luo Binghe watched with bated breath as Shen Qingqiu’s thin lips parted to blow gently on the food, his heart giving an unwelcome beat before Shen Qingqiu placed a bite of tofu into his mouth. The air was electric with anticipation while he waited for Shen Qingqiu to ingest the poison. Eyes trained on that pale throat, he stared as the pretty white skin of Shen Qingqiu’s neck bobbed to swallow.
“Shizun,” Luo Binghe said again, a smile curving on his lips.
“What’s with that—” Shen Qingqiu’s jade eyes widened as he reached up to touch his neck in horror.
“You! You d-did…someth…”
He did indeed do something, and Luo Binghe watched in satisfaction as the poison worked its effects on Shen Qingqiu, delighting in the way his eyes first glazed over, turning glassy and dull, stealing that sharp glare away.
