“What?” Henry asks with confusion etched on his face, perplexed.
“Don't go on that date,” he repeats a little more firmly this time. His voice is still breathless from running all the way to Henry's dorm room just in time to stop him from going. Henry can't go on that date. He can't let him go without at least trying and saying what he has to say, though he still doesn't know how to say it. It would kill him.

Alex can hear him humming some song so quietly, lost in the melody. And he can't help but want to seek his boyfriend's warmth, allow himself to sink into the soft, peaceful feeling that he can feel basically radiating off of Henry's body, and let it wash over him—let himself be held and not care about a damn thing in the world.

"“Are you sure everything is alright?” Henry asks in a whisper like even the slightest loud noise would break this little peaceful bubble they're in, ghosting his lips over Alex's temple and gathering him in his arms again.
“It is now,” Alex answers him simply because it's true. This entire week sucked and he feels drained of every bit of energy he had in him, but now, when he's in Henry's arms feeling his chest rising and falling steadily with each breath against his own, it doesn't all seem so bad."

It was expected, really, that Henry would name his manuscript ‘Waterloo’.
(For Henry just had to write about Alex. The future deserved as many accounts about the man brighter than the sun as the world could write about Alex. Alex just existing felt historic to Henry.)
What was unexpected, however, was Henry returning to his library table, his Star Wars mug refilled, to a mop of devastating brown curls emerging from Henry's manuscript.
He stared into sparkling brown eyes almost entirely eclipsed by black. And then barely a whisper.
"This reminds me of me"
