“Lieutenant Seresin, what did you do to him?! Bradley!”
“Calm down, man!” Hando snaps just as Seresin turns around, a look of apprehension on his face as he finally replies, “He’s alright, I promise. He’s just – smaller.”
Pete almost doesn’t understand what he means but his eyes flicker down to Seresin’s chest, to the tiny head of blond hair and suddenly he realizes what he’s looking at. Because even if he couldn’t recognize his son by his haircut – plus/minus thirty years, mind you – the flight suit he’s currently drowning in and the familiar helmet abandoned by Seresin’s feet are dead giveaways for who the kid in his arms is.
“Baby Goose?” Pete mutters faintly just as the world turns back.
