Summary
“There’s been an increase in ghost activity,” Jeonghan says. “Like a noticeable increase."
“So, hauntings,” Minghao replies, not understanding why that would require his presence.
“It’s not just that. It’s—the ghosts are, well, weird.”
“Weird ghosts,” Minghao repeats.
---
Or, after getting a cryptic open-ended invitation to visit Seoul from Jeonghan, Minghao finds himself in the middle of a mystery that involves large pockets of dark energy, unusual ghost activity, rumors about the legendary time seals, and his inexplicable magical pull toward a drama actor named Wen Junhui. -

"We want you here— you and Chan— you can feel it too, right? How— how right you fit into our lives— like you were always meant to be here— right between us.”
Jeonghan wanted to stay. He desperately wanted to stay. He wanted to tell them everything— everything Daeho ever did to him, to Chan, what Chan was— but he couldn’t risk Chan’s life for the chance at happiness. Even if they accepted Chan as a human, on the very rare chance that could actually happen, they would never be able to accept him as one of them.
He would always be the outsider, always be the weak link, and Jeonghan would never let anyone treat Chan like he was less just because he was different.
“Maybe in another life,” he replied, voice nothing more than a whisper. “But in this life, Chan and I will leave when it’s safe to travel.”
OR
Chan stumbles into the second nicest wolf after his appa one day in the woods who offers them shelter from the storm. They stay longer than either of them ever expected and find more than they thought possible with a pack that shouldn't want anything to do with them.

“You’re good,” Yoongi says, sliding down the bench. “But if you want to get better, all you have to do is take what’s in here—” he reaches out and taps the front of Jungkook’s chest, light enough that it’s more of the impression of touch than anything else. But Jungkook still has to bite his lip, tamp down a shudder.
Yoongi draws his hand up, and this time, he only makes the vaguest of gestures towards Jungkook’s lips. “And let it come out there,” he finishes.
Jungkook bites down harder on his lip. “How?”
(Or, Jungkook asks Yoongi to teach him to make music.)

Two things jump up at him immediately.
Lee Jungchan
2004. 11. 02.
2004. Chan isn’t twenty-five. He’s twenty-one years old. Twenty-one. He’s younger than Hansol. He’s younger than their maknae.
Before he can even begin to process that, his eyes land on the small, laminated rectangular peeking from one of the card slots. Slowly, like it’ll magically disappear before he can look at it, he takes it out and his stomach drops to the floor.
Eyes barely open and hand proudly shaped into a claw, Soonyoung smiles back at him.
Shit.
Fuck.
He fucked a twenty-one-year-old fan.

“Are you allowed to be this annoying?” Seungkwan complains. “I’m trying to figure out if this is a sex thing and you’re laughing at me!”
“Sorry,” Kibum manages, waving a hand in front of his face like he can waft the hysteria away, gesturing at Seungkwan to eat. “Sorry, sorry, hyung didn’t mean to be mean. You let your members bully you into jeans that tight when you’re not sure if it’s a sex thing?”
Seungkwan sections off an entire shrimp with his chopsticks and shoves it grumpily into his mouth. Just past the lip of the balcony and the evening is breathing new life into Seoul, the throb of UN Village spilling out onto the Han with every new light flickering over its surface, the ambient noise of music and chatter and traffic wrapping the two of them in their own illusion of privacy. More intimate, somehow, for being made aware of the world.
“Ugh, this is really good,” Seungkwan grumbles. “I’m going to eat this whole thing and you aren’t going to be able to get me out of them.”
(Or: Kibum hadn't started out wanting to fuck Seventeen's Boo Seungkwan.)

“He has so many imaginary friends— we all thought he was making you up—” Shota’s dad rushes to explain. He’s blushing furiously. “Chan said he’s never seen anyone—”
“Well,” Jeonghan laughs. He’s been waiting for this moment. “Usually Chan is too busy flirting with some guy on the playground to notice.”
Shota’s dad makes a little noise, almost defeated. His face scrunches up, and for the first time he looks just like Shota. Jeonghan’s chest hurts a little bit.
“Okay. This has been really insightful,” he says. He waves a hand in the air, eyes failing to meet Jeonghan’s. “I’m going to have to talk with him about that— uh— I’m sorry, you’ve been, like, babysitting my kid three times a week, apparently.”
(OR: Seungcheol learns about the inherent homoeroticism of sitting on a park bench with his kid’s imaginary friend.)

Namjoon doesn't look away when he asks quietly, “Jin, will his blood save Jimin?”
The fear jolting through Jungkook's limbs intensifies, and Jin doesn't look away from Jimin’s grey face as he takes a short breath. “It… maybe. But… Jungkook might... not make it.”
Everything is greying, wavering, and there's a faint ringing in his ears as he holds out a shaking arm in front of him, fingers trembling from the frigid cold or the paralyzing fear. Namjoon’s voice is steady when he speaks. “Jungkook, we don’t want to hurt you-”
“Then don’t, please, please don’t hurt me!” Jungkook cries. “Please, they - they hurt me so much already, please.”
He yanks at the torn shirt, pulls it open desperately, hears their sharp intakes of breath at the ragged bites on his neck, his deeply bruised arms and shoulders, the scabbing flesh over his ribs. Hoseok shudders and closes his eyes. There's no change in Namjoon’s expression, but Taehyung’s eyes are wide where he still kneels beside Jimin's unconscious form, and Jin looks devastated.
Jungkook's heart thunders, and as he whispers, his voice breaks again. “Please, p-please, please.” -
