Jason is halfway through mowing down a group of thugs when his phone rings. The buzz in his pocket distracts him momentarily, and he swears as one of his bullets misses the mark. He takes a second to fumble out his phone and accepts the call without looking, raising it to his helmet as he shoots again.
“Hello?”
“Jason?” The voice on the other end of the line sounds out of breath and staticky, but Jason immediately knows who it is.
“ Kid, what’s up?”
“Not much, but, um. Are you busy?”

Jason’s entire face went still.
Dick set down the plate. Slowly. “Guys—”
“You really want to bring that up?” Jason’s voice was low, tight. “You think I don’t remember? You think I forget that I nearly made the worst mistake of my life?”
“Funny, I thought that was the jacket.”
“Screw you.”
“I was fifteen!” Tim’s voice cracked slightly, high with fury. “I trusted you!”

Tim snapped at Jason and things went downhill from there.

Summary
There are many things that have never come easy to Tommy. Like touch, or words, and some days even getting out of bed is just out of his grasp. A task too large for him to accomplish, a beast too large for even a Greek hero to battle.
He tries not to show them. His failures, his defeats. So, instead, he makes up excuses.
“Sorry Wil, I was editing and lost track of time.”
“My allergies are bad today, givin’ me a headache and shit. I think I'm gonna have to cancel this stream.”
He thinks people can tell when he’s lying, his allergies have never really been bad, and on the worst days all he has to do is take a Claritin, after that he’s perfectly fine. Still, no one calls him on it. Somedays, on his worst days, he wonders if they just don’t care. If they can see through his half-assed excuses but don’t actually care enough to call him on his bullshit. He wonders if he’s worth caring about.
On the bad days, which are getting closer together, he doesn’t think he is.
Or...
Sleepy Bois being there for Tommy when he has rough days.
