It laughed, low, bellowing, powerful. It rocked Martyn’s core, rattling his ribcage.
Slowly, its form cleared. Not that it disappeared, no, it constructed itself, like wooden blocks seamlessly falling into place, a-– a purple shape, something that rose nauseating bile to burn at the back of his throat.(or, martyn stumbles on a c.h.e.s.t. agent in le terrière)

The tennis ball was fairly oversized, compared to Ren, and only half of it remained, leaving a large hollow space inside. He grasped one paw onto the circular edge of it, dragging it closer to his ship to haul it up, when he noticed the excess of water inside. It appeared dirty; a dark, greenish colour tinting the waters.
And, as it approached Ren, his heart sank upon seeing what was curled up inside the ball.

Tentatively, he spreads his fingers out until his whole palm is pressed against the armor. The magic makes it heavier to hold but comes with a certain kind of spark. Something hard to replicate. He wonders if it somehow feels warm when Ren wears it and feels silly when he finds himself hoping it does.Something other than logic compels him to ask.
“Let me arm you, er, put your armor on you… my king.” He stammers through the proposition.
---Martyn comes up with the idea of helping Ren with his armor. A story told in the yes' and the no's of getting close enough to kill but instead offering more protection.

Summary
Martyn had talked to plenty of high ranked people before, a few of them still way above his own rank, but this wasn’t the same.
There was something new about seeing this man, long brown hair cascading on his shoulder from so close. A man that he had only seen from afar and told to protect with his life, now standing in front of him and acknowledging his presence as more than just a soldier amongst many. The king knew his name and had personally asked for him.
And, in an instant, Martyn found himself alone in the room with the known and feared red king.
