Summary
Modern AU.
When he gets off from his day-to-day bodyguard job, Clive goes to work at the nightclub "Stonhyrr" as a bouncer. He's only interested in the paycheck, so he doesn't ask about what might be going on behind closed doors. His main concern is supporting- and protecting- Joshua at all costs. They're on the run from a mysterious past, and things are finally looking up. Joshua is thriving in college. (He's secretly addicted to drugs, but he's fine! He's more alive- and more in love with Clive- than ever before!)
Things get messy when Joshua grabs the attention of the Waloeder "king," who leaves it to his "lord commander" to show Joshua and Clive how things work around here. Feat. Bad man Cid. (Future tags and warnings may change!)

Summary
Cid has survived the destruction of the Mothercrystal at Drake's Head thanks to Joshua's timely intervention. However, after sucking a part of Ultima into himself, Joshua quickly vanishes - and takes Clive with him.
Five years later, and the Rosfield Brothers have successfully recaptured Rosaria in their name, but the relationship between the Archduke, his First Shield, and the Outlaw has soured; without Clive by his side, Cid has surrendered himself to his nihilistic beliefs that the world is better off being burned for its cruelty, while Joshua has been not-so-quietly losing his sanity thanks to the steady, slow poison of Ultima within him. Clive does the best he can to manage the fallout between his brother and his former mentor as they continue to wage war against each other - all over Clive.

Set in an alternative timeline...
At the fall of Drake's Head, Joshua arrives in time to heal Cid from his mortal wounds - and steal Clive away to retake Rosaria in the name of their family. Joshua is interested in nothing else other than the preservation of his and his brother's relationship, having gone a little mad over the years with Ultima stored inside his chest. Meanwhile, Cid has lost his self-control, and careens ever closer to the edge, wishing the world and all its evils to burn now that Clive is no longer by his side. With the Phoenix and Ramuh constantly at war with one another, Clive finds himself caught in the middle... and when Cid kidnaps Joshua, Clive has no choice but to answer the call, and see just why Cid would go through so much trouble for him - and if he has what it takes to meet Cid's demands.

Summary
(Set in a modern, non-magical AU; spoilers for future content in tags)
Clive and Joshua share an apartment together and struggle through their lives in the aftermath of their mother's suicide a year earlier. Once extremely close, Joshua has worryingly withdrawn from Clive and is clearly teetering on the edge of self-destruction. Meanwhile, Clive tries to help them make ends meet by moonlighting as a boudoir model.
Their lives are about to change dramatically thanks to the sudden cancellation of Clive's usual photographer, who is replaced by the mysterious and alluring Cidolfus Telamon.
