Summary
Steve buys a little rundown farmhouse after his parents pass. He collects abandoned and stray animals, ones with disabilities and high medical needs, because he has both the funds and the time to give them the best life they can possibly have. Then, somehow, he starts collecting kids, too, working with the foster system to give them a place to learn and grow. Adults, however, aren't really his forte, but when Jim Hopper calls in a favour, Steve can't help but agree.
It turns out that Eddie Munson, a rockstar famous for both his music and hedonistic lifestyle, is going to be Steve's next rescue.

Summary
“Go ahead,” Steve says, handing Eddie a shoe box full of cassette tapes. Eddie doesn’t do much more than skim the top layer; he knows he’s not going to like anything in this box. Steve laughs happily at Eddie’s wrinkled up nose, “I figured by the shirt you might not like anything I listened to.”
Eddie pulls out a tape; Bruce Springsteen. He puts it back, and digs a little deeper.
Okay, Fleetwood Mac is...passable. Tusk is...an okay album, he guesses. Might not be his thing exactly, but at least he can, objectively, understand why people like it.
“So, what do you do?”
“Starting with the heavy hitting questions, huh? You want to know my favorite color?”
Steve makes a noise that Eddie would class as a guffaw, “bet it’s black.”
Eddie picks demonstrably at the black polish on his nails, “nah man, I just dress like this so I don’t have to separate my laundry.”
Steve snorts a surprised laugh, clearly delighted, and Eddie’s guts go a bit warm in a way he can’t really identify. He knows he likes it though. Usually people don’t like his snark; but making Steve laugh is...feels nice. Good. Takes his mind off where he is and where he’s going and how he got here.

Due to actions of many cast members with supporting active genocide and ethnic cleansing and supporting the occupation, I no longer feel comfortable showing support to this show or writing about it. No updates will be made.
Eddie had a feeling he knew where he was, like, it was sort of inevitable. Every single person had told him where he would end up when the day came. Hell. He wasn't surprised he would end up here, of all places. He was more surprised that there was less fire and more... water?
Eddie hesitantly lifted a foot up and placed it back down on the black water, watching it ripple softly. Yup, definitely water. Was this some form of mind game played by a demon against him or something? Manipulation/illusion tactics were a form of torture in hell, right?
But, something did not feel right. It felt like part of him was being pulled back into... something. It was like gravity was pulling on it, keeping it tethered onto something else, but he could feel the grip loosen, and as it loosened, he felt panic climbing up inside him. He had to keep his grip, but it was slipping.

“Stop the car.” Steve whispered at first then turned in his seat to pat the driver through the divider. “Stop the car.” He demands this time. The car screeched to a halt. The man on the sidewalk flinched as the door flew open and Steve stepped out. His eyes looked over the man hoping to find something that denied where his thoughts were going, but nothing stood out. “Hey!” He yelled, “Don't you watch where you’re going?” He wasn’t mad, or upset. More concerned that the man was safe than anything.
“I’m… sorry.” The man stammered out. “I’m just a bit conf… lost. I’m lost. Extremely lost.” He looked at Steve with wide puppy dog eyes. “Where am I?”
Max shuffled out of the car at the question. “New York City.” She answered with a quirky smile.
“Get back in the car, Max.” Steve turned to face his sister and scowled.

Summary

It’s not a problem, exactly. Eddie’s a nice guy. Pretty funny. Steve likes his company, honestly. It’s just that Steve’s general rule for how to interact with girls he hooked up with is: don’t.
Of course, Eddie isn’t a girl. And he fought monsters with Eddie, so he’s hardly just a hookup, either. Neither of those factors exactly serve to make it any less complicated.
Or, Steve and Eddie hook up pre-season 4, and then are forced to actually spend time together thanks to the events of s4, and realize they actually like each other
