Summary
Eddie never expected to rely on other people as much as he relied on Steve, Robin, Nancy, Jonathan or even the kids. They weren’t allowed to talk about everything that happened with Vecna with anyone else and Eddie was pretty sure that having those people in his life, people who were there with him when it all happened, people who were able to understand him, were the only reason he was still sane.
He was thankful that they were a part of his life, but he also was incredibly scared to lose them. He knew that most people didn’t like him, that they had their prejudices and usually he didn’t really care about it, at least not anymore. But he couldn’t imagine a life without his new friends and he was scared to lose them.
So when they started to behave weirdly and treat him differently than before, he blamed himself.

Five times Eddie thought Steve hated him and one time he realised that’s not the case.

Summary
The year is 2001 and a lot has changed.
Eddie’s a mechanic in Michigan, floating though his life in the only way he knows how-, casual survival. He’s still friends with Dustin, but he's been pretty out of touch with anything and anyone from Hawkins for almost fifteen years.
Of course, that was his own fault. Who lets one night of their lives, one admittedly intimate night of their lives-, change the whole course of their future?
But one call from Dustin changes everything overnight. Forever feeling guilty for skipping town, Eddie is convinced to return to Hawkins where he finally faces his biggest fear-, finding out that what was supposed to be the most monumental mistake of his life never needed to be carried around like the burden that it never was.

“Jesus Christ Steve, Aubrey? I thought that you were going out with Janet or whatever her name is,” Carol scoffs, cutting off Steve’s story of his weekend that he was in the middle of telling Tommy about.
He cuts her a smirk before leaning in, “Can’t a guy have two dates in a weekend?”
Tommy laughs as Carol shoves him away. Steve leans back to watch as Tommy wraps his arm around Carol and lifts her up from behind, cackling as he spins her in a circle.
“If I wasn’t tied down I’d be going on three dates in a weekend. Harrignton’s lucky I’m not out there, would be too much competition,” He lets go of Carol and slaps Steve’s chest, grinning up at him.

After practice one day Steve and Tommy catch Eddie Munson kissing another boy in the locker room. This creates a whole mess in Steve and Tommy's friendship that Steve didn't even know could happen.

Then, the martyring son of a bitch had gone and donated blood to Eddie in the hospital, so, like, that’s a thing Eddie’s gotta live with now. Like every time he sees Steve, his heart beats faster on purpose as a reminder of whose blood is pumping through his veins.
Like he said — laughable. All of this would be laughable, if it wasn’t so close to making him cry.
Eddie recruits Steve Harrington to find an outlet for Max's anger once her post-Vecna injuries have healed. He gets more than he bargained for and has to face a lot of things he'd rather not deal with. An exploration of Eddie's life post-Vecna, his understanding of himself, his exploration of kinks and sexuality and likes and dislikes, and what the fuck he's going to do about his big gay crush on Steeeeve Harrington.

Summary
In the summer of ‘89 Steve Harrington is the newest bartender at the surprisingly popular (and very gay) bar, The Poison Pear. Alongside Robin, Steve starts his first night on his own with confidence—until Eddie Munson shows up in tight leather, messy curls, smudged eyeliner, and a teasing grin. Turns out the metalhead not only plays with his band at the bar, but also works there on the busy weekends.
Steve quickly spirals into a bisexual crisis while working long, hectic nights with Eddie who becomes so much more than just a ‘save the world’ acquaintance and (pretty, intriguing, oh did he mention pretty?) coworker.
With shared trauma to heal from and uncharted desires between them, Steve falls fast and falls hard into Eddie’s open arms.

The thing was that Steve didn’t like Eddie. At least, not as far as Eddie could tell. He’d said something to Robin about it who brushed him off.
“Steve’s just being Steve. He likes you fine. He’s just… being Steve.”
Or... Eddie isn't sure when Steve started to dislike him so much, but he's more than willing to mess around with him when Steve confesses he has...something...he needs to get out of his system.
Eddie just wasn't counting on his heart getting involved along the way.

When he arrived at Wayne’s, his uncle had come on a little too strong at first. All he’d done was place a soft hand on his shoulder once the boy had put his bag down in his new bedroom. It was nothing crazy, but it still sent the boy into a frenzy of ripping himself from Wayne's palm and stumbling into the empty closet to hide. He screamed and cried, and Wayne was too scared to move, because how was he to know?
He didn’t come out for hours, but Wayne still sat on the bed and told him stories of when he was a kid, and about his mother. It was only when Wayne promised to look away while he dragged himself out of the closet, that he did so. They both spent the morning together, setting up the bedroom to how Eddie liked it, but Wayne never tried to touch him.
Eddie was sure to never bring up how much he craved Steve’s touch when he wasn’t there. He was too scared he’d scare him away, and they’d end up being two roommates who didn’t talk or even acknowledge each other’s existence. So, he just enjoyed the hugs and hand holding as much as he could when he got it.
He’d much rather lie about his feelings if it meant keeping the boy around.

Eddie gets this weird feeling he knows exactly what Steve is talking about. Exactly where this is going.

It's actually more of a whisper than anything. Eddie is surprised Steve hears him, but he must because he swallows tightly, seems to really consider his next words.
And Eddie is certain he's dreaming, he can't think of any other logical reason why Steve is looking at him like that. Why it feels like there’s no air in the room, and something new burning between them.
