His sword slides free with a metallic whir.
“Wait!”
Carver freezes, then looks around, face full of confused surprise.
Steve must say the feeling’s mutual, because he doesn’t recall speaking or standing. Still, that was very clearly his own voice just now. And still, here he is, mounting the taffrail of the Hellfire and jumping onto the deck of the other ship. As he walks closer, the confusion in Carver’s eyes morphs into hesitation, and finally recognition.
“Wait a minute,” he mutters. “You’re the Harrington boy. The Governor’s kid.”

Steve truly should have known he would've been roped back into this, not that he was particularly bothered. Steve liked playing on stage with Corroded. He loves the antics that he and Eddie get up to on stage, he loves the way these shows make him feel, the way that Eddie--he loves doing this with Eddie.
Steve had been doing shows for a long time, long before he met the Corroded guys, but damn if they weren't the most accident prone bunch of assholes Steve had ever met. It was Jeff this time. He had slipped--on the carpet, but Steve was not judging (yes he was)--and Eddie had called Steve immediately.

And maybe Eddie’s delirious, because by the time it’s apparently his turn and they’re dragging him down some hallway (and yeah, it’s not like Eddie’s not trying to put up a fight, but it feels almost performative at this point considering he’s pretty much hogtied here), the only real thought he has when they deposit him on yet another cold, wet tile floor is this:

“Leave it in,” says Eddie, voice weirdly low and toneless. He hasn’t moved from his spot by the door, fingers still hovering over the light switch, but the way he is staring at Steve now makes his hand freeze in its attempt to yank the tiara out. It’s not just hungry anymore. It’s downright predatory, those big brown eyes aglow with something Steve doesn’t think he’s ever seen in them. Something raw, something primal. Steve’s stomach gives a funny little swoop.
“Wh- … what?” he hears himself croak.
“I said,” Eddie kicks the door shut with his boot, eyes never once leaving Steve, then crosses the distance between them in two quick strides. Steve’s ass hits the washbasin painfully, hands flying down to clutch the edge for balance as Eddie pushes him against it. “Leave. It. In.”

The magazine is… interesting.
It’s clean, for one, looks like it was barely removed from its plastic sleeve before it was abandoned here. Secondly, it has quite possibly the funniest cover Eddie’s ever seen on a skin mag.
TITS! the title reads in exuberant block letters. The hottest new male erogenous zone for the late 70s continues to blaze into the new decade. Herewith, a sizzling nine-page pictorial saluting those magnificent masculine mounds of pleasure.
Eddie snickers into his fist. A pictorial salute to pectorals, indeed. Fucking man mounds, Jesus Christ.
Then he gets to the centerfold and the laugh dies in his throat.
