Summary
The ceremony is surreal, like an out of body experience. She walks up a makeshift aisle, the crowd parting to watch her, to take her measure. She’s aware a priest of some sort says words that hush the crowd, but she can’t understand them. She throws a glance over her shoulder, where her mother is bleary eyed but stone faced. She shakes her head almost imperceptibly but she doesn’t interrupt or object. She knows their survival hinges on this.
She turns back to the priest, barely glancing at the man next to her, but his presence feels overwhelming. His breathing is even, he doesn’t fidget like she suddenly realises she is. He smells a bit spicy, a little heavy. Foreign. She nearly jumps when he shifts on his feet and brushes against her arm, the heat of him searing her skin.
Her eyes are firmly fixed ahead as the priest starts proceedings, as he chants prayers that she can’t decipher. She can only pick out certain words, and they all make her blood still in her veins. Death, fight, blood. If there is a word for love in trigedasleng she doesn't know it.

Wow. An actual fucking classic. An ANGSTY (& steamy) arranged marriage AU with grounder Bellamy and skaikru Clarke including unplanned pregnancy all in a time of war with Ice Nation. The slow burn and angst is so real but satisfying all at once.

Conversation peters out, as it often does with them, and they sit together in a familiar and comfortable silence. It’s what they do a lot these days, his thumb staying pressed down on the com button of the radio and hers doing the same on her end, minutes going by with just the sound of their breathing passing through the radio to each other.
They’ve spent nights just like this before, barely a few words passing between them, and sometimes that’s all there is, and they’ll eventually fall asleep like that, to this odd state of being both together and apart.
But Clarke does eventually speak up again, and that’s not much of a surprise either.
“Are you alone?” She asks, and he knows it’s one of those nights.
“Yeah, Clarke,” he says. “I’m alone.”

Six years was a long time alone, but one thing that came from it was that Clarke Griffin had gotten very good at getting herself off. She had always imagined dark hair, freckles, broad shoulders, but now that he was back her body was rebelling. It knew what she really wanted and refused to settle. When she stumbles on Bellamy in her attempts to get out of her own brain a little, all pent up and frustrated, it's the least he can do to offer to help. She just has to tell him what she needs.

Clarke and Bellamy come together as they try to run a camp full of delinquents, forge a treaty for peace with the grounders, prepare for the ark to make its decent to the earth, all while winter is blowing in. They don’t realize that Clarkes time in solitary means that she and the others weren’t getting the medical check ups they should have been.
Pretty soon it won’t be just the people they came down from the ark with calling them mom and dad.
Eventually a bellarke pregnancy fic. I just needed some happy angst in my life.
