To save Fontaine from a prophecy of draconic destruction, Queen Egeria fakes her son Neuvillette's death, sealing him in a tower guarded by water spirits. For twenty years, Neuvillette dreams of the world through books and secret letters from his sister, Furina.
As floods engulf Fontaine and bounty hunters close in, Furina gambles: she hires disgraced knight Wriothesley to assassinate Neuvillette, praying his buried honor will surface. But Wriothesley finds not a monster, but a gentle soul.
Trapped by Neuvillette’s trusting joy, the assassin becomes protector, and as love blooms in isolation, the kingdom drowns.

Summary
Crown Prince of Fontaine, Neuvillette, found himself in a dire and isolating situation when Duke of Meropide, Wriothesley, launched a coup d'etat, murdered his entire family, and then cornered Neuvillette into marrying him for a political purpose. Without any power nor allies left, Neuvillette has to navigate his new life inside the walls of Palais Mermonia as a glorified prisoner of war.
But inside the palace that no longer feels like home, Neuvillette has yet to discover that he knows nothing about the outside world, and more importantly what Wriothesley is really doing.

failed to seal the primordial seawater, neuvillette witnessed everyone important to him disintegrating until the sea claimed his soul, too. but instead of new incarnation, the hydro dragon repeats his life cycle, returning to the past and regressed into child once again.
the difference is: instead of returning to his time hundreds of years ago, neuvillette only transgressed 30 years back, to a vastly different version of fontaine and a real chance to save the only person worth more than his own entire existence.

The victor stood motionless amidst the sand and dust, only looking up in response to the smattering of applause from the stands like he’d only just noticed there was an audience present. Amidst the general clatter of spectators getting up to leave or lingering to chat with acquaintances, Neuvillette remained in his seat as he watched the lone gladiator stride off with handlers trailing behind, all while the last words of the announcer faded into the air of the emptying Colosseum.

Neuvillette is the Court of Fontaine's youngest senator, seeking to sponsor a gladiator in the King's tournament this year as part of his plans to uncover more information about his heritage. An unexpected deed on the first day of the qualifying rounds catches his eye, but neither he nor the gladiator he signs a contract with have the faintest idea of how thoroughly their lives will be intertwined beyond their expectations. Meanwhile more powerful forces are poised to strike from behind the scenes, and the answers they seek may end up overturning everything they thought they knew.

Summary
War may be brutal, but it’s fly or die for the dragon riders at Meropide College of War.
Wriothesley abandons his post as an infantry colonel for a chance to become a dragon rider and wield magic. Very soon, he finds he’s bitten off more than he can chew when half the college want him dead or dishonoured, and his ageing body starts to give out. Wriothesley finds a lifeline in his friend Navia and his favourite Professor, Neuvillette, but trusting anyone is like walking the edge of a knife.
With every day that passes, the war outside Teyvat’s protective wards creeps closer. Despite twelve years of service, Wriothesley begins to lose faith in leadership when a terrible secret comes to light.

Summary
It is by happenstance their eyes lock as it crests a wave with a grace the other beasts lack, a lavender glimmer that shifts to cobalt and amethyst and carnelian, pale pupil blown wide. He can see the intelligence and purpose in that gaze as it picks him apart in turn, evaluating him as though it can see down to the very core of his soul and beyond. He feels naked and bare but unable to look away, attention rapt as the moments bleed into what feels like an eternity.
The cry of a gull pulls both of them back to reality, those stained glass eyes flickering behind nictitating membrane, Wriothesley suddenly aware of the rough hewn stone beneath his feet and the steady mist of the crashing waves as it sweeps over him.
He is not sure where the word selkie came to mind, unbidden though it may have been, but it slots perfectly into place. He suddenly knows without a doubt that is what the creature is just as much as he knows it is his own heart that hammers in his chest. There is something primal and fae as the selkie rises again, gaze drifting over him curiously though it refrains from coming any closer. For now it maintains its distance though Wriothesley draws solace in the fact that it has not fled.

Halfway through the monologue, Wriothesley had to pause to keep himself from spitting out the rest of his good tea. Calmly, he put his cup down, fighting for his damn life to rein all that confusion into order.
He said, succinctly, measuredly, to the man sitting across his table, “Hang on. Sorry. Uh, what custom?”
The dragon clarified: “You have saved my life, and kept my shedded scales. By the immutable laws of the ocean, we are now mated.”
