The sun was high and hot and the world had taken on that wonderful film-grain again, the yellows turning golden and the greens turning yellow and everything deep and rich and wonderful, as if they’d all climbed inside Sirius’s old camera and as if they could stay there for as long as they liked, because the world only existed as far as the rocky horizon, and that was plenty big enough for the four of them.
It's a Canadian roadtrip adventure! The perfect summer, apart from the way Remus is doing Sirius's head in, and the way Sirius can't figure out why.

Summary
He wants to ask Remus a million questions. He wants to ask him if he wants to, wants to ask whether they should, wants to ask what if? He wants, perhaps most of all, to ask him whether any of this is real for Remus, or whether it’s just the hazy magic of the lockdown talking.
Then Remus’s eyes flutter open. They are bright and clear: full of the same want that pulses through Sirius’s veins every time Remus gets all moony-eyed about Proust; every time he manages to drink them all under the table; every time he goes out without an umbrella, gets caught in the rain and comes back looking like a particularly striking Victorian waif.

Summary
A shiver trembles through Sirius, racing up his spine, and he blames the crisp air. Remus leans closer, and his lips are parting-- and Sirius shrieks as a chunk of wet, numbing snow is rubbed into his cheek. He squirms beneath him, twisting his head away, but Remus only presses him harder into the glacial ground.
When Remus sits back, Sirius glowers darkly, using his freed arm to wipe his face with his sleeve. He can't quite remember how to breathe, and Remus is still over him, their legs tangled and bent at odd angles.
"You were a lot nicer to me when you were sick." Sirius says.
"I was weak." Remus smiles, and the warmth from his body fades as he gets to his feet. "Don't get used to it."
Of pub quizzes, old films, Chinese takeaways, broken arms, and impassioned discussions of literature: Remus is confusing, and Sirius is just trying to figure him out.

Summary
This fic is a tribute to MsKingBean89's beloved original character Grant Chapman from All The Young Dudes. I intend for this to be a LONG fic showing Grant's life and his perspective in atyd from the very beginning.
This will be canon compliant to the author's narrative of Grant (forgive me if there are a couple very minor oversights). It will span from 1971-1995, possibly beyond.
If MsKingBean89 ever became uncomfortable with my extended use of their character or reference to their brilliant story, I will be understanding and the future of this fic will be up to them!
