Summary
Jungwon is young when she meets Jake for the first time, in a sun-warmed town during her first summer away from home. Together they figure out how to love each other, sweet and bright and unending, and together they figure out how to fall apart.
(It's about beginning, over and over again, and ending just as much, and learning how to still care about someone while living your life despite them. It's about soft lips and saltwater and how if you catch a fish once you should let it free, but if it bites a second time then maybe it wants to be eaten. It's about love, and touch, and walking in circles.)

Jay grins, widely, like Jungwon is the most interesting person he’s talked to all day. “You really hate me, huh?”
Jungwon’s skin itches under his gaze, crawling with heat. “Competition isn’t personal,” he replies. “It’s the natural order of things.”
“Huh.” Jay laughs a little at this. Draining the last of his mug, he leans over to press their shoulders together. “Guess I’ll try to beat you too, then.”
“It’s on.”
(or: it's jungwon's first year as an upstart farmer in beautiful stardew valley, and life is good. if only a certain rival farmer would stop sending him gift baskets...)

Summary
Jake had felt something, a tugging right beneath his breastbone, a pull so insistent that he almost walked into the water desperate to get to the other side. He needed the house, not wanted. Needed.
“Heeseung,” he’d whispered, unable to get his voice any louder. “Let’s buy a house.”
Or: Heeseung and Jake buy their first house. Unfortunately it's haunted by an angry ghost that has cursed everyone in the town and may have some violent tendencies.

Summary
The mass of dark colors blends into the stumps of the trees. It’s four seconds of strange shifting until anything starts to come into the light. Jake counts every breath he lets out and how long it lasts in between.
Inhale. Two, three, four. Exhale. Two, three, four. Inhale.
“Jake! Are you still there, man? Are you okay?”
A leg, long and lithe, steps out onto the field.
Jake is met with familiar eyes. Eyes he knows all too well— the same pair of eyes he watched flutter shut last night, fading into the empty air like candlelight snuffed out by the oncoming breeze.
It’s a deer. It’s the deer.

Summary
And then his eyes glance over his own pale face, and he sees it.
All of his teeth have sharpened out. Miniature razors dragging themselves along thin slabs of ivory— each tooth a dagger, with his canines elongated past their natural point.
They’re the teeth of a predator. Of a rabid animal. When he takes it all in, his eyes grow to match the size of the elder still standing behind him. It’s only then that Jay lets his lip drop, but by then it doesn’t matter; Jungwon is darting forward himself, hanging over the sink and tugging his mouth open by the corners with both hands. He closes it, opens it again, and repeats.
Over and over and over. Those teeth are still there. Over and over and over. They don’t go away.
“Jungwon.” Jay’s face in the mirror is equal parts beautiful and haunting. “I don’t think you were bitten by a dog.”

“It’s not okay, princess,” he says, and he sounds so goddamn sad, she has to stop laughing in her head for five whole minutes. “None of this is okay. Please don’t pretend it is. Please let me help you.”
