After the nationwide chemical mutation broke out in 2045 rendering the greater part of the United States uninhabitable, a robot named Vision explores what is left so that he can learn what it means to be human.
It hasn't been easy. He's only met a human recently.
And there she is. His human. With a rat hanging out of her mouth.
“Wanda,” Vision tries for a scold. “We’ve talked about this.”
“Mmrgh,” replies Wanda. Reluctantly, she opens her mouth and lets the poor thing thud to the ground between her feet.

Summary
Kochou Shinobu has begun her self-poisoning endeavor. She's eager and ready to undergo any side effects of those crucial first doses, the pain means nothing to her if it means she can avenge her sister. What she wishes she could had gone without, though, is fainting in front of all the other Pillars.
Since she's always taking care of them, her well-meaning peers each come to try to return the favor, and no matter how uncomfortable some of them find it they are determined to bear it. Shinobu must bear their efforts too. While each Pillar gets a little time in the spotlight responding to her sudden illness, Shinobu grows increasingly concerned that someone may try to stop her.

Summary
When the war ends, Viktor leaves Jayce behind and disappears.
Jayce searches for him through all timelines and possibilities, and tries to put the broken pieces of Viktor (and himself) back together.
He just didn't expect to wind up in the past and meet a younger Viktor before his apartment exploded, nor the events he would unwittingly set in motion.
"Goodnight, Jayce," Viktor breathes.
The last thing he knows is a gentle caress against his forehead. Cold. But tender, featherlight. Afraid.
And he bolts awake in the dark, only a mere few hours later, sweating in the cold of the night.
Alone.
