His face twisted with disgust and loathing as he began to ramble, “I wish I could just get rid of this stupid hunk of rock inside of me!” Right as he said that, the hybrid felt his mind split as he began speaking again, but it wasn’t exactly him doing the speaking.
“N-no we need our gem to survive!” It began.
”Who cares if we live?” This felt as if it came from somewhere else than the other. “Nobody needs us anymore…” It trailed off as the other spoke again.
”We need to stay together! To be Steven.” The seemingly more positive one pleaded.
“Well, maybe I don’t want to be Steven anymore!” It shouted, cracking Steven’s TV screen and sliding door.
or: Steven unfuses, his halves get to know themselves, each other, and their nature as a fusion; Steven. canon divergent from the first scene in everything's fine.
