Through the years Crowley and Aziraphale keep running into each other in compromising scenarios or just when they're on the pull. To be fair, it's mostly just Aziraphale in compromising scenarios. That hardly makes it better.

“You know,” Crowley rasped as he struggled to scrape himself off the ground, “I can't shake the feeling that there must be an easier way to go about this.”

A possible take on the birth of the Arrangement.

On the bus back to London from Tadfield, without Crowley's Bentley and presumably without Aziraphale's bookshop, with no faith left in their sides, no belief in a Great Plan, no more orders from head office, no apocalypse, and no side but their own, Aziraphale faces, and then shares, some hard-to-express truths.

That was no way to think, just because a stupid ex-nun misinterpreted a blamelessly hostile situation. That way lay madness. That way lay an angel with disapprovingly pursed lips and pitying pale eyes and “My dear boy, I’m so *very* sorry, but...” and Armageddon would come as a relief after that, really.
